Well, it's a .0 Cubase and no surprise, it_is_buggy. I had crashes doing absolutely nothing. Fortunately saves in 11 do not mean won't open in 10.5.

That's normal? This is what beta is for. Doesn't Steinberg do beta?jancivil wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 10:38 am Well, it's a .0 Cubase and no surprise, it_is_buggy. I had crashes doing absolutely nothing. Fortunately saves in 11 do not mean won't open in 10.5.

My experience looking at the Steinberg forums is that there are usually a fair number of issues. Usually they wouldn't affect my useage but sometimes there is something fairly major.antic604 wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:11 amThat's normal? This is what beta is for. For that and budget reasons (I have a Jan-Dec year budget I set myself) I wait until after the holidays in January to update.

Is anyone finding that when you add a new VST Instrument (e.g., Halion, Groove SE, 3rd-party VSTi, anything) that the whole Cubase interface just disappears temporarily and then comes back? Did it used to do this? It's a little off-putting.

Judging by my question above being downvoted it is normal. You're participating in paid betafandango wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:37 pm Is anyone finding that when you add a new VST Instrument (e.g., Halion, Groove SE, 3rd-party VSTi, anything) that the whole Cubase interface just disappears temporarily and then comes back? This is on Windows. I'm guessing by your username you might be on Mac?macmuse wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:44 pmNot here.fandango wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:37 pm Is anyone finding that when you add a new VST Instrument (e.g., Halion, Groove SE, 3rd-party VSTi, anything) that the whole Cubase interface just disappears temporarily and then comes back? Or when you add new instrument or fx, the audio always cut out. This the "gapless audio engine thing" what I was talking about. So many people complain on this, and Steinberg won't fix it.fandango wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:37 pm Is anyone finding that when you add a new VST Instrument (e.g., Halion, Groove SE, 3rd-party VSTi, anything) that the whole Cubase interface just disappears temporarily and then comes back? Cubase 10.5 has the same problem here. A 'fix' is to close all other software running so Cubase is the only active program.fandango wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:37 pm Is anyone finding that when you add a new VST Instrument (e.g., Halion, Groove SE, 3rd-party VSTi, anything) that the whole Cubase interface just disappears temporarily and then comes back? I am on a Windows 10 machine here, and I do not see what you describe. No part of the UI disappears when I add GA5 or Halion6 to a project (they do take a moment to load up though).fandango wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:58 pmThis is on Windows. So far, 11 seems decent enough stability-wise. The one funny quirk I have is that when I custom-colour the UI, Cubase wants to slowly drift towards a different colour after repeated launches. I thought I was imagining things, so I made note of the RGB numbers of the custom colour I chose for the UI, and then checked them again after each launch of Cubase. Sure enough, they keep changing... LOL... fun!

I missed out 10.5 so that'll be why I'm seeing it now.

Well this is cool, whilst I was playing with the new curves for Pitch Bend, I never realised you could set this view to show semitones instead of PB values, and set a custom range as well. e.g., Set the PB range to 12 in DUNE and similarly on the MIDI Editor lane. You can get some really fine-tuned note sliding in there (you can set the points by semitone, rather than PB CC). One of the things I miss in FL Studio is being able to do quite elaborate note-slides, but this looks like a more powerful alternative now.

I've been messing around in C11 for a few hours, all smooth so far for me. No crashes, nothing strange going on. It's a good upgrade coming from C9.5 for me. I was expecting some issues as there has been in the past. I'm sure some users are having problems and there's usually a hotfix or update soon after release. I generally don't go heavy into using a new version until that first fix is available.
