Generally hardware people with gear that is noisier than the computer anyway or who have a relatively noisy studio. More of them who do care and who would rather have less fan noise or none at all. Fan noise matters to me. I returned my Moog One cause of the fan noise... it drove me nuts. My studio is super quiet. Ambient sound level is like 26db.
Lucky you!

About The Fan Noise ...

The fan noise can be a bit annoying at times. However, it is hardly
noticeable in my daily studio life:

When me, our main guitarist and our bass player turn on their amplifier,
a booming hum goes through the room without a single note being
played.

When even louder noises flow through the amplifiers while voices and
fiddling, the volume level goes so high that even the screaming children
and the car horns are drowned out.

Fan calls in between and the clacking and rumbling of the drummer,
who again cannot find his sticks, further increases our background
noise.

Most of the time, at this moment the guitarist's children rush in,
gesticulating wildly and screaming because one person has hit the
other and it is no longer possible to find out who started. :o

I and the bassist, very annoyed, tap a few notes in order to make some
musical statements between the screaming and nagging, and to point
out that we are here in the studio, because after all we wanted to record
a song today.

In this chaos of humming, rattling and screaming - anyone can imagine
that: the fan noise is really our smallest problem!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And besides: The fan noises of all the fans of the band, yes that is even
the inspiring, extremely welcome background noise in the clubs,
newspapers and media! :D

Yes, they worry about how the new chips will work out, how much we pay for them, what plug ins we can use, whether the camera is 1080p or not, if it's "really" a better experience, whether developers will abandon MAC OS, etc. etc. They seem really worried that we might be using an inferior product, they really care.
It's like saying clyp user shouldn't worry about where soundcloud is at, or AU users shouldn't worry about VST. This distorted elitism mentality among blind peasant users is disease. Every sector of market cares about what market leader is going.

Windows is the market leader, not Mac OS. Should I give a f**k about Windows development? Sure, but I won't go onto their threads and shit on their users.

Anyhow, your characterisation of 'elite mentality' is the kind of shit I'm referring to, thanks for playing mate!

Now they bring a "we aren't market leader" excuse, while they are bragging about "largest tech company" weapon. What a twist! :hihi:

Where am I bragging about Apple? Where do I mention anything about them being a leader? Who is 'they''?

I think you have me confused with somebody else.

By the way, just out of interest, do you use Mac? Do you use Logic or Cubase?

You don't need to change your subject. Just stick to your "windows user is annoying. they care about us", "they are market leader" argument.

Are you replying to yourself? :hihi: Where is the point you remotely contributed to the topic regarding Cubase or Logic? Don't shoot yourself in the foot.

sabiwa wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 8:09 am Is this the point where the development of Cubase on mac starts to lag behind Windows or do you think Steinberg will try to keep up with the technology?
Well, in general, you have to do with two properties at the Mac level:

1. The hardware is - with the same performance - about
twice as expensive as Windows systems are.
2. The hardware or the OS is often completely changed,
and the entire software must then be ported.

But if you can come to terms with it and these 2 characteristics
don't bother you, then there is no reason not to rely on Logic or
Cubase. Logic and Cubase are among the best there is as a DAW.

1 is wrong... even more wrong re: apple silicon.
2 is also wrong.

you are wrong.

At this point I'm considering a raid on some Windows threads, post a few insulting messages along with some choice bits of misinformation.

Would suit you well. ;)

Who was insulted BTW? Maybe I missed something. I only saw troll accusations, and those didn't come from the "Windows folks". Whoever that is.
