Okay, good to know. I might try my luck with the free version.sl1914 wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 3:15 amI installed the vst2 version, but I cannot sign in. there's error message "An internal error has occurred".JerGoertz wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 2:59 am Anyone get this to work on Windows 7? (I know it's not officially supported.)
I think there should have been a warning at download page if this is not going to work in Windows7.

Just spent about 4 hours exploring this synth. $20 is a no-brainer purchase. I didn't try the presets much, just started exploring making my own sounds and ended up with a number of lovely percussion sounds. It has an enjoyable workspace and featureset and sounds good

I too have a Focusrite 6i6 (an older, first gen. one) on one machine, and occasionally transfer it around to others (like my laptop) when needs be, which is convenient, and has always worked well.Teksonik wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 1:00 amAhh I see. Maybe I'll try installing one of my old M-Audio cards in a test system to see how it works.pough wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 12:53 amTechnically no, but it's been working fine here since I refurbished this computer in August. I think I just needed to set the installer to run in compatibility mode and then run it as Admin.Teksonik wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 11:20 pm Did M-Audio ever update their drivers to work with Windows 10 ? I've still got an M-Audio 24/96 and AP 192 but stopped using them when I switched to Win 10 after reading stores of the driver not working.
I moved to a Focusrite 6i6 and have been very happy with it.
I also have 2x M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 cards installed with the latest available drivers, on one machine running Win-10 and they both show-up in all software, and work fine. Have not had any issues thus far, in over two years. Notwithstanding any known or unforeseen conflicts, the 'trick' (as well documented way back) was installing the software/drivers before installing the cards.

I don't want to spoil the party. I've spent an hour on the Discord and listened to the user patches being posted. And I have watched the YouTube videos. Somehow the sound doesn't wow me at all. It all sounds a little plastic to me. Listen to the MX demos if you want to hear a WT synth with impressive sound. What's interesting about this synth is the amount of features, the great visual design and unique 60 fps GPU rendered GUI. Guess I will wait for the free version. I would have liked to join the early bird party but I can't do it.

Maybe I missed something, but how is everyone already getting this plugin? On the website it says its going to be released November 24, yet everyone is already playing with it. I wanna try it too

Yeah, Massive X is a wavetable synth with impressive sound, but it has so many flaws and weaknesses otherwise. I don't enjoy using it. It is tedious and limited in various ways.v1o wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 6:35 am I don't want to spoil the party. I've spent an hour on the Discord and listened to the user patches being posted. Vital has far more interesting wavetable Osc's with wave import, user drawn waveforms and more interesting morphing modifiers and cool stereo options. It has MSEG's, a sweet mod matrix, supports MPE, is more immediate, hands on and fun to use.

The primary conditions for whether I invest any time or money in a new synth or not these days, except for Falcon, which doesn't satisfy any of the above
I'm pretty much covered with Hive and Vital as my two main synths now for 95% of my needs; the former for bread and butter VA/wavetable stuff and interesting modulation routing (and speed because I know it so well now) and the latter for nasty audio rate and deep wavetable mangling (taking over Serum's spot).

Sounds like Parawave 'Rapid' to me, - ticks all of the boxes- fast and fun, wt/sampler/granular/multi layer
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

They don't allow license transfers though and for someone as fickle as me, that's a massive turnoff. More of my producer friends have Falcon too, including those who don't use Live like I do, so it's better/easier for sharing multi-sample patches etc.SLiC wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 8:54 amSounds like Parawave 'Rapid' to me, - ticks all of the boxes- fast and fun, wt/sampler/granular/multi layer
Everytime it goes on sale, GAS kicks in and I think about pulling the trigger, but I only make music for fun in the evenings and at weekends, so I rather stick with what I have, rather than adding more and more synths (blasphemy I know, somebody remove this guy from the boards!)
Vital is an exception because it's so similar to Serum that the learning curve is basically a flat line

That's completely reasonable (another reason to be thrown off KVR!), I picked Rapid up in one of the sales and really do like it....but I also have Flacon and if I cold only have one of them it would be Falcon. Still, at least Rapid has a demo- Falcon is a leap of fait! Vital is a lot of fun and IMHO better than Serum in many ways.

I can't see anything special about Vital either, like some others here. I've watched every Youtube video I can find about it, nothing amazing or special about any of the sounds I've heard - at all. Plus I hate 'flat' (i.e. shit) interfaces, we have incredible colours and resolutions on monitors nowadays, and too many programmers are forcing this hideous design on us.
Can anybody show me some of the presets they think are the most impressive?

This is probably best introduction of new vst synth ever
People will download fully working synth and if like it,will buy it
Hope the sound will worth, the GUI isn't most exciting ever built, but better great sound, than great skin
Cheers

VST3 and standalone now seems to be working without fault Windows 10 64 bit/ Cakewalk.
