You can't imagineijiwaru wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:31 am Fantastic news! I love digital synths that fully embrace their digital nature rather than attempt to be 'warm' or 'analog' sounding. Can't wait to try this one. How is the mod matrix? Is every synthesis parameter able to be modulated?

Audiorate modulation, 3 wavetable oscs vs 2 + sub, Modulate a modulator with a modulator modulating a modulator with a modulator........... scale and skew each of those modulationsCaine123 wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:28 am 20 bucks is crazy....i read serum killer, hype hype blabla ;D, is it just freaking out about a new vst or is it Serum+more?

yes but, would be a pain to set-up though,Vortifex wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:34 am Is the TTW playable in legato, so for instance you could play a different note for every word?

I think this is a bit of a same situation as with Serum. At first glance Serum seems/sounds VERY digital. But when you dig deeper, you find out how much more it can be. So maybe it is same with Vital? People at the moment are posting those very digital sounds, grawls etc = similar to those "basic" Serum sounds. But I believe Vital can be MUCH more than those sounds heard on the videos at the moment.BenfordLaw wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:38 am I can't see anything special about Vital either, like some others here. I've watched every Youtube video I can find about it, nothing amazing or special about any of the sounds I've heard - at all. Plus I hate 'flat' (i.e. shit) interfaces, we have incredible colours and resolutions on monitors nowadays, and too many programmers are forcing this hideous design on us.
Can anybody show me some of the presets they think are the most impressive?
After all, there aren't that many videos of Vital out there yet. And most of those videos are heavily concentrated on the text thinggy so you can't really get the whole idea of how versatile Vital can be or can't be.
But I believe there will be plenty of tutorials for Vital especially after the official release. And naturally there will be the free version to try out

Most that I tried, although I've yet to see if glide amount can be or not in Vtial. It can't be modulated in Serum and that's annoying for me now as I'm quite fond of scaling vibrato and or glide with velocity and one shot LFOs to make more expressive lead patches.

Absolutely can be. Slope and glide time are targetsPieBerger wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 11:09 amMost that I tried, although I've yet to see if glide amount can be or not in Vtial. 3 oscillators vs 2 in Serum, 2 filters vs 1 in Serum, spectral morphing and FM(PM)/sync etc combined instead of either or in Serum, comprehensive matrix slot modulation vs nothing in Serum using the mod matrix doesn't lock you out of modulator *parameters (this is super annoying in Serum) and it has much nice reverb imo. Plenty to be excited about personally and the best thing is there's practically zero learning curve since it functions almost exactly like Serum.Caine123 wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:28 am 20 bucks is crazy....i read serum killer, hype hype blabla ;D, is it just freaking out about a new vst or is it Serum+more?

You get 5 TTWT per day with Plus vs unlimited in Pro. More factory wavetables and presets in Pro and prioritised/premium support. Bug fixes will still be pushed to Free and Plus users.3qO wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 11:16 am Does anybody know what means "Unlimited text-to-wavetable" in the Pro version? I mean, what is the difference between Plus and Basic?

Vital really seems to be a good deal: you can get the free version if your budget is zero or can get one of those paid versions to support the developer + get extra content (you can think it like buying extra sound pack for your synth). And even with the free version you can create your own wavetables or import. So that gives huge potentials

70 wavetables in the Plus version are more than enough with all the spectral and FM capabilities this synth has. Now that I think about it, I think I will go with the Plus version after all. I mostly stay offline while making music, so I won't be needing the unlimited TTS stuff. More wavetables from the Pro version would be nice, but then again, it's not really that necessary with the nice wavetable editor onboard. I can always upgrade later down the road I guess. I really like the pricing scheme, very generous and reasonable.
