Yeah, that's been the second positive takeaway from that video. And they were even placed on that carpet/fur thingy. So far I guess in case you would install one of those active cooling pads under your MB Air at your main working place (possibly using another keyboard/monitor/mouse, which I would do anyway), you'd likely never run into any thermal issues. Maybe even just enough space below it would be sufficient.

Thanks to C19 and zero gigs I'm defenitely not in the market for a new computer right now, but in case constant load single thread tests would still look as great (ideally obviously performed with Logic), I may not invest any more money into my cheesegrater (thought about adding some more RAM, SSD space and perhaps even replacing the CPU) but just hold my breath for another year or so.

3213 Points in CineBench?
that's like 40% of what M1 pulls in a smaller case.

Given the few Cinebench results available so far, that Lenovo won't even hold a candle against the M1 machines.

Yeah.

And I do now *demand* some constant load singlethread Logic tests, goddamnit!

Looks not bad so far. I have still a week to wait for my M1 macbook pro (16GB RAM seems to take a week longer).
Oh i will also support all developers early on board and buy the music tools i have not yet

Are you using Logic?

You know... it seems much less of an issue than I initially though. Most devs seem to be on a good way.

Pretty much looks like.
Besides, at least as a Logic user, you'll be able to use Intel-made plugins for a while to come simultaneously - with the additional CPU hit caused by Rosetta 2 most likely sort of compensated by the sheer horsepower of the M1 chip.

Apart from that, I'm sure at least some developers will be quite happy about all that additional power, as it will allow them to create things not yet heard of.
I mean, even these days there's quite some plugins that will still bring pretty decent machines to a halt at one point (just think about Diva or - even more so - those Neural DSP amp plugins), especially when running things at very low buffersizes.

I'm a bit worried about older Native Instruments' stuff, especially Massive.

Older stuff will surely become an issue.

Me too. I'm glad TAL is almost good to go. I suppose Sugarbytes as well, as most of their synths already have an iPad version.

Yeah, but what do you call "older"? I mean, I'd love to see Form traslated. I guess it's from 2016.
