Hope you are using the VST3 version? Because there was an update recently that improved this in the VST3 version and it is better than before now.

I was mostly using the stand-alone and vst2 version. I guess I need to demo it again to see if it's working better now. thanks!

You know you have reached a critical point of being spoiled to the bone when you consider 1 second is too long in your daily life.

of course if you were do it on the fly while performing it might be an issue, and by performing I do not necessarily mean in front of an audience, some people like to perform their parts all the way through in one take...a second there could really screw things up

I am new to Pigments 2. P2 seems like a Falcon 2 Lite. I am impressed. I would like to import wavetables from some other wavetable synths: Anima, Serum, Rapid, Hive 2, Falcon 2, and Massive X. What is possible and what is the best way to import the wavetables? Thanks

First of all, I didn't measure the lag with a stopwatch, it could have been more than 1-second. Secondly, there is a lot of competition now with synth plugins which all have similar features. Having to wait for each preset to load while browsing through them is quite a market disadvantage for Arturia. It's Arturia's problem if and when they lose customers, not mine or yours. Furthermore, I'm quite happy with the very few synth plugins I have, if Pigments have problems then it's clear to me I don't need it. it's very hard for me to see how I'm "spoiled".

Why? Is that something you do in the middle of a song, without a pause? Because I can't say it's anything I have noticed so it may be dependent on the type of preset - I mostly use the V/A engine.

To my knowledge, if any preset uses the sampling engine, then based on whether you have an SSD/HDD, your load times will be longer than while loading a preset that uses just the WT/VA engines.

The load times will be longer with any synth that has presets using samples for that matter. Try out Phase Plant, Rapid, Avenger, Falcon etc. to see for yourself. So this is not a problem with Pigments itself.

Would explain why I’ve not seen the issue, only have SSD and M2 drives

Are you safe?

i checked it, loading times are quite normally, if use a stopwatch, starting and stopping the stopwatch would take more time..

even with samples of my own, which i like, and wavetables of my own, that are on a HD. (3 x ssd's, and samples on a HD, they are too small, to make a big difference, of course drumkits, some libraries i use (but never really use) are on SSD, not the boot drive. yes presets are on the boot drive still, as the resources.. but i managed to get 10Gb extra, by updating to 20H2, with the windows upgrade manager, that makes your windows directory, 10 Gb smaller.. beside the point. to the point!)

pigments is quite fast, synthi v for example is a bit slower, although, it has improved a lot.

you answered your own question. If you don't experience this lag, then there is nothing to bother you. I don't understand why I need to be so defensive about what I said.

OKay, Thanks! I haven't tried the other synths but the first and only time that I experienced similar lag besides Pigment, was with Steinberg's Retrologue. Anyway, I will demo Pigments some time in the future and check the type of engine the presets use, if I even experience the lag at all then.

Good point. The lag is even higher in ROLI Equator2 even when I have the library on my SSD. It's a 3-year old SSD, so probably slower than the current ones.

You don't need to be defensive, just explain when this occurs so that others, who don't experience this issue, can gain some understanding and possibly confirm for you that it is a bug, not just an issue with your set-up. I scroll through presets fairly often and haven't noticed it there, either.

As I understand, Pigment's wavatables are not "exportible", as they are in its own format? I wish i could use them in another synth too.
