Can anyone please confirm if aftertouch is working with VST3 version in your DAW?
It's working in standalone for me, but not when using VST3 plugin in FL Studio. Massive X, for example, detects aftertouch fine in FL Studio and I can even record aftertouch automation, so does not seem to be an issue with FL Studio.

It's not "forum tips", it's just common f**king courtesy to take the time to do something properly for the benefit of others, rather than doing whatever is easiest for you and f**k everyone else. It shows a level of respect to other forum users.

You are the king of courtesy here on KVR, Sir BONES, a knight in shining armor!BONES wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:31 amIt's not "forum tips", it's just common f**king courtesy to take the time to do something properly for the benefit of others, rather than doing whatever is easiest for you and f**k everyone else. (Truth is, I try but I can’t get the f**king edited quotes to work...I don’t know why...)

So what about the packs for V1 like colors of india and extended content for blocks? If we are deleting V1, is there any use keeping these around? Can they be read by V2? Or is it all replaced by the new content?

off topic, try to be short.. biotek2 is fully MPE since, april i believe or may, not announced. no mention on the website. i seem the only oneOu_Tis wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 3:42 am
Whoa, I didn't realize Biotek 2 finally implemented MPE support (in September).
and again back to ecquator2! which in the long term, will be more tempting, me thinks.

Your expansions will be available in Roli Connect. Equator 1 presets are compatible with Equator 2.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 6:37 am So what about the packs for V1 like colors of india and extended content for blocks? Thanks, I will check again if I there's something I can do about this.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:55 amSeemed fine in Bitwig.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 4:00 am Can anyone please confirm if aftertouch is working with VST3 version in your DAW?

EDIT: Looks like aftertouch is not working for VST3 plugins in the latest release of FL Studio, 20.7.3. I thought it worked, but perhaps I was wrong. Works fine for VST2 plugins. I have reported this issue.

I am using only plugins so the keyboards are hooked on Bitwig, I don't think it's something that it's a setting in Equator, but should be in your DAW (correct me if i am wrong). But maybe it is possible with the stand alone version, I never install these.simmo75 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 1:43 am Is there a way you can set which type of keyboard you want it to open with as a default?
I'm flicking through the manual but not seeing it.

Aftertouch is working fine for me in the VST3 in Studio One v4 - even if I have it in MPE mode (which I know shouldn't work properly in S1) pressure is still registering.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 7:04 amThanks, I will check again if I there's something I can do about this.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:55 amSeemed fine in Bitwig.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 4:00 am Can anyone please confirm if aftertouch is working with VST3 version in your DAW?

Thanks for letting me know. Could you please try a non-MPE parameter, aftertouch specifically, and see pressing your keys harder indeed affects the assigned modulation for aftertouch? This would help better in my troubleshooting.aMUSEd wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:44 amAftertouch is working fine for me in the VST3 in Studio One v4 - even if I have it in MPE mode (which I know shouldn't work properly in S1) pressure is still registering.
I am suspecting it to be an issue with FL Studio, as VST2 plugins like Pigments 2 and Massive X are detecting aftertouch correctly, but it would be great if a FL Studio user can confirm about Equator2 since it is only available as VST3. Pigments 2 VST3 also does not detect aftertouch in FL Studio. I have reported it to Image-Line btw.

Okay, thanks again. A bit surprised, because based on similar issues reported few months or years ago on PreSonus forums I thought the "VST3 aftertouch" issue was still there in Studio One too. Looks like they have fixed it.
Confirmed that it is an FL Studio issue then. Hope they fix it soon.

I think the filters are fine, though I’ve not really kicked the tires in v2 quite yet. I’m not looking for a high quality analog modeled filter in a plugin like Equator. I’ll go to Strobe or Obsession for such things.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 2:02 amBeing the filter critic that you are, I'm surprised you're ok with the equator filters. Up towards max resonance they turn into hot digital garbage. But hey at least they don't loose volume with resonance.BONES wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 5:21 amMe, too. It also has the benefit of sounding really, really good. I'd kind of forgotten about it a bit in recent times so this is just what I need to get back to it. I'll let you know how I think v2 compares in a day or so.WasteLand wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 3:27 pmi like equator (1) with all it's quircks, but i can get complex sounds out of it, i make presets from scratch, the visual feedback is great, for the curves, and yes! curves! pretty handy...
Note: This is in reference to V1, but I was told they didn't change the filters in V2. Surprising given the ground up re-write that they kept all the same filter models?

How is Biotek 2? I seemed to remember listening to a demo and thinking it sort of sounded like a ROMpler with a lot of nature sounds, but I never really explored it much. Is it worth trying?Ou_Tis wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 3:42 amWhoa, I didn't realize Biotek 2 finally implemented MPE support (in September). EDIT: As far as I know, this is the only synth with such MPE luxury.
LION has it, biotek2 has it, cypher 2 of course, vaporizer2, i think MSoundFactory also (LIFT), softube modular, so this luxury is more common. i can only comment on the synths i have..
The only reason to buy Equator, IMO, is because you have a Roli controller and they do a fantastic job making sure the synth engines are designed to take advantage of their type of MPE, and the presets all display it, even if sometimes it takes a bit of time to “learn” how to play a patch. It’s not like you’re sitting down with a vintage analog synth emulation with a standard MIDI controller that’s got all the features needed to fully control the plugin. I mean, most vintage synths didn’t even have aftertouch or velocity. So having all those “hooks” for all those data streams, and having the ability to sculpt those hooks to your playing style, really makes them worth the cost of admission.OTOH having presets designed for maximal playability with the Seaboard can be a huge positive if that's done well (if not---as with some of Roli's celebrity collaborations---not so much).
The addition of multisampled instruments potentially a major positive for me though. Once they let us set the library location.
