Ohhh, sorry, bad morning here.Wopelka wrote:i never said you are a bad developer nor that you shouldn't post. besides, i really like you.WilliamK wrote:Wopelka, I don't get what you mean. i was just trying to help by providing you with a neutral feedback about how you might be perceived. sorry if i wasn't clear enough.
One thing is true, the guys from Emmaple, dishing PC users. The other way around I could understand, but not like this. The PC market is very big, not to mention that building PC machines are way cheaper compared to MAC computers.
You are right. Thanks bud. Is just that I'm tired to be flamed by those underground-dogs, you know? And the worse, I get to be the "bad" guy on the end, while all I was doing was to defend my work. You see, I work every-day, several hours per day. This is my life, my full-time job, ... so I'm tired to get those negative words on me, that's all.ttoz wrote:I never said you didWilliamK wrote:
Tozz, I'm keeping it nice here, have I said anything bad or started flames?I only liked to point out what goes behind the scenes. That's all.

about behind the scenes, well, I agree with you on those points. but c'est la vie.
anyway FWIW, you know what *I* think of you. Otherwise why would I buy every product you have ever made?

William, as a commercial developer here it really doesn't look that great when you enlighten us all on what all these evil developers are doing behind the scenes.
Approaches like that nearly never work with any user base actual or potential.
And that is regardless of whether what you're saying is true or not.
Maybe you should create a false user account and enlighten us all that way.
Caleb

It's infamous!
WE ARE THE WORST DEVELOPERS OUT THERE.
And nobody else!
And you can be sure, that we will become nastier and more bad every day!
You can do what you want, we will f**k you finally.

A thread that bashes people earning money from the products we buy from them? I gotta admit it's kind of fun. However it could be alot better. C'mon, let's open a new thread and bash the freeware devs!

Didnt read the whole thread, but is there a reason why NI (native instruments) isnt in the poll?
Not that I would pick them, but just curious.
Amazing to me that so many pick Steinberg and Emagic.
The biggest are the worst? Maybe because of the biggest expectations for the biggest money?
But reFX and ImageLine follow, so smaller ones also have a chance for the prize

ImagineLine is not a surprise (although i don't agree with those who hate them).
but ReFX? i'm quite surprised... what's wrong with them? they are a small and helpful company with some great plugs... i don't understand.

Even being a loyal Logic/PC user myself I wouldn't vote for Emapple though.
Sure, leaving the PC platform wasn't nice at all, but the way Native Instruments (where are they in this poll?) or Steinberg are treating their customers isn't any better either IMO.
NI = Constantly releasing new stuff that never has been exactly asked for, while completely abandoning cost-free updates to fix at least some major annoyances (they would only fix some essential bugs and that's about it). Has been like that for a while now. You see some pay-products announced almost every week, but where's an FM7 fix for the Komplete version? Where's a slightly better version of the lousiest Leslie ever (the B4 one that is)? Where's resizeable sample loading dialogs for Battery1? Where's mono legato mode for Kontakt? Where's a fix for the uberlame MIDI file export thing in Intakt? Etc etc etc - a full list would just be too long.
Yeah, I know, most of these aren't bugs but annoyances - still, you'd expect at least some of those to be adressed without having to pay again, won't you?
Steinberg = Constantly f**king up things in new versions. And I mean CONSTANTLY. Fixes coming MONTHS later. You'd almost think they got no testers at all anymore, considering the amount of things not working anymore with new .0 versions.
Yeah, thank you Steinberg, for all the goodies you've invented (VST, ASIO), they're a godsend for us poor musicians, but seriously, when it comes to treatment of loyal customers you just don't get it even halfway done.
I wouldn't say that Emapple is any better, at least from what you can read on the various Logic forums, the relase of Logic 7 seem to be quite a rushed one, but the Apple deal at least has been a somewhat understandable move to me (even if I still feel f**ked by them as well). Whether it'll pay of is another thing, I actually don't exactly think so, but at the time it happened it seemed to be the best way to keep Emagic alive and prosperous.
Constantly f**king with customers as paying beta testers (which is what Steinberg and partially NI as well are doing) isn't that much better.

Just so people know, i voted for emapple, because of the new support details for logic 7. Basically there is no customer support. If you require support you have to pay several thousand $$ a year

Well, that's just the usual support method of Apple. They will only give you 90 days of free support after you purchased the product.Paul_FX wrote:Just so people know, i voted for emapple, because of the new support details for logic 7. However, when did it happen the last time that you actually asked a company for support and got some?
I can't remember for myself, and it doesn't make any difference which company it was.
That's why the internet is a godsend.

I like them myself, but I've seen quite a few posts from reFX in the past that have left me cold.Wopelka wrote: but ReFX? i'm quite surprised... what's wrong with them? they are a small and helpful company with some great plugs... i don't understand.
I don't really go into their company forum much and things may be great in there, but occasionally a post turns up on some of the other public forums that have me cringing.

Apparently this isnt the case with L7. No support. nothing. They will only give you 90 days of free support after you purchased the product
All the time actually. Ive contacted Digidesign on several occassions and got excellent service. Also Steinberg (bollocks!), Devine machine (excellent), tobybear (excellent), apple (very very poor).. the list goes on and on..However, when did it happen the last time that you actually asked a company for support and got some?

From what I've been reading on the LUG, you're entitled to 90 days of support.Paul_FX wrote: Apparently this isnt the case with L7. No support. nothing.![]()
However, as it seems this support is done via Apple, so the question remains whether you'll actually reach somebody even having a slight clue about Logic.
