Yeah, it is awesome and has been suggested! ... but not nearly as awesome as a new Irion track would be!

... and on THAT note, due to severe annoyance problems with monique, I wanted to quit working on this as soon as possible (the biggest of which: I could not reload the project without sounds randomly changing!). (and, while I try not to be too negative about things, this is just about the worst thought out synth ever. I cannot believe anyone actually paid money for it, and I expect no one to care that it is now free or open source, because there is nothing good about it whatsoever. it crashed things multiple times, cannot restore properly, how would anyone use it regularly?). anyway, here it is!

Hi!

This is my actual entry. If anyone is interested I left my initial version along with this one (I'll remove it from the forum at the end of the month). Please tell me whether I improved something or rather ruined :D Basically I added few elements I missed when listening back to it a little bit later, changed the balance slightly and changed the master chain.

Host: Ableton live
Native fx: Utility, Reverb, Glue compression with sidechain, Auto Pan, EQ Eight, Arpegiator (midi) and a slight saturation on Master
3rd party FX: Limiter6

Few months ago I acquired Yamaha HS 80M monitors and this is my first finished track on them. My room is without any intentional acoustical treatment and also these monitors might be a bit too powerful for the size of this room but I have "calibrated" my ears since then by playing soundgym games almost daily. The most noticeable effect is that my previously primary headphones (closed-ones, bundled with sound card) feels a bit dull sounding compared of what I thought about them when I got them initially.

Hi. :D
My entry : https://soundcloud.com/jruegg/jruegg-imminent

It was an interesting synth, but I don't think I would use it again, and with so many instances the project was getting too hard to work with. Some mix issues are still present, but it's good enough to submit :hyper: .

It feels good to participate again in the OSC, it's been a while since I finished a track.

67 instances of Monique.
DAW : Ableton live 10

Live FXs used:
* Eq8
* Multiband Dynamics
* Glue Compressor
* AutoFiler (Used only on the drums for the buildup)
* AutoPan
* Saturator (used lightly on the snare)
* Reverb
* Convolution Reverb (M4L device)
* Limiter
* Utility (for pan, width & gain)
* Delay

External FXs:
* Melda MFreeformPhase (free)

I was so up for this month's challenge after failing to finish my Pendulate track, that was until I started using Monique - I've walked away from it now for reasons of keeping my sanity :hihi:

I've moved my "classical cover of the month" series to a thread of its own. If you want to hear Monique let loose on Shostakovich (or should that be the other way round?), head over to viewtopic.php?p=7951966#p7951966 All comments appreciated.

I found this synth awkward to use but fascinating. Nice choice!

Hello all! It is my first submission, I've been following this awesome challenge for quite some time though. And this month finally decided to join, despite such strange synth. Huge thanks to z.prime for that glide trick! If it wasn't for it, I'd have skipped another month probably. I'm glad I didn't skip, this challenge was so much fun, had to make decisions I never normally make. Creative limitations like this are awesome! I hope you enjoy it, probably not the best mixing/mastering, but my cat seems to like it(see picture).

Hello fellow OSCers! Here is my submission this month:

https://soundcloud.com/tensorman/video-game-army

Originally, I wanted to make some epic complextro. Halfway through making the track I realised it was neither epic nor complextro; instead, it sounded like "gaming music". Oh well, might as well roll with it.

As for Monique, using a monosynth in OSC is always going to be challenging. Thankfully its envelopes are responsive, and although I found no easy way to modulate the pitch, the resonance knobs could go up *very* high which meant I didn't have trouble with drums. Overall, Monique delivers both on the low end and high end, true to being a "lead and bass synth". However, I could not get complex sounds out of it (unlike some other very talented OSCers!) since I found the morphing confusing.

I would also like to thank Z Prime for helping me with some mixing issues on the OSC Slack. Those tips really helped in reducing some of the muddiness that was previously in the drop.

... and here is my little submission for this month ... :hyper:

Had no problems with Monique in Cubase, unless I was starting the arpeggiator: A few times I couldn't stop it :wheee: (missed a PANIC button).
All in all a quite versatile and useful synth. Would be even better, if its name were 'Polyique' :D

For my track I used ...

19 instances of Monique in Cubase Elements
Cubase-FX:
Compressor
TubeCompressor
Limiter

other effect plugins:
MCompressor
MStereoExpander
Supercharger
Limiter N6
TAL reverb 3
