That is correct. I switched from Cubendo some years back for the reasons stated above:
No, that are mostly Cubase users searching a better (read less overly complex and bloated and ugly GUI) alternative, but with more or less the same workflow.
And I am quite happy I did. Cubase 11 is a big bloated pig. Plus, I also use Presonus hardware and it integrates with the DAW seamlessly.

Well, music software could be anything, a DAW, notation software, a general audio editor, ...

Japan is old fashioned when it comes to gender roles. The country in general is quite conservative.
Signatures are so early 2000s.

what I find fascinating about Japanese society is they have the most mind blowing amazing creative film makers and the most lame cheesy music.
sweeping statement,

btw. I somehow like multiple workspaces instead of multiple monitors in Cubase

yeah. and not an ounce of originality. have you looked at their cinema. there has been no other film movement in history like it. highly unique and original. but the music is cultural appropriation of western genres and influences.

If you want to minimize it all to that.

Cubase interesting. I don't think you have has many hip hop/pop/electronic music makers on here. Music Radar got it right I think for best DAW according to where the market is now. I would say FL then Ableton then Logic. Music Tech is dominated by music production right now.

Yamaha's role in Japanese market and school is huge. People know the name from childhood. https://www.yamaha-ongaku.com/music-sch ... p_sp_2.jpg Yamaha Cubase is most accessible and 1st DAW they touch as they believe Yamaha is the way to go.

genres: Idol/Anime music, Pop/Vocal music, Game, Rock (guitar), All EDM styles, Orchestral/Film, Instrumental/Ambient, Jazz/Funk

as they mentioned it "Pro Tools is often used for genres with vocals and live instruments" so in a studio environment other parts are written in Logic, but just guessing

FL is nice...just for EDM :D , and where is Reaper :scared:

Kurosawa modelled himself on John Ford. The Japanese New Wave (Teshigahara, Oshima etc.) was obviously hugely influenced by the French one. Even Ozu was a big fan of Hollywood and started out making Warner Bros. style gangster films.

Nothing wrong with that and absolutely no different to some of the most interesting Japanese music which doesn't lack in originality for taking Western stuff as a starting point or one point of influence amongst others.

Les Rallizes Denudes, Keiji Haino/Fushitsusha, Masayuki Takayanagi/New Direction Unit, Merzbow, Melt-Banana, Masonna, Ryoji Ikeda, Mariah, Incapactitants, CCCC, Pale Cocoon, High Rise, Mainliner, Ghost, Kusokuya, NHK, Damo Suzuki, Kaoro Abe, Otomo Yoshihide, Foodman, Yoko Ono, Boris, Ikue Mori, Ryuichi Sakamoto/Yellow Magic Orchestra, the film music of Toru Takemitsu..

There are many ounces of originality to be found.

I personally like all kinds of music, but I find their music culture industry highly derivative and lame sounding. The only guy I heard that to me sounds authentically Japanese is Shoukichi Kina. Everything else I hear seems to be a weird bastardization of western pop or metal and commercializing it to extreme.

baby metal is so weird. like a strange bastardization of k-pop and commercial metal and fashion.
