Haven't used it myself but looks like a pretty comprehensive rompler workstation.
I second what ztrauq has said, if you can get Purity working in Linux it will be the best $49.99 investment that you will make for a workhorse synth, i bought Purity years ago and still using it to this very day, no iLok business , just good old school serial numbers and the cpu usage is very low, plenty of sounds, sound layering - no problem, also it is multitimbral, you will get your money's worth out of Purity for sure because it is what i would class as "A musical synth" (It is easy to make it sing) and the Sonic Cat developer is friendly, there is a demo version on the site to download and test.
What is the advantage over XPand2! ? XPand2! is 10x cheaper and is excellent. To the original OP, any of the Air Technology vsts would suit, probably XPand2! is best for your needs though.

OP Uses Linux and Xpand2! uses ilok. ilok doesn't work well with Linux. If he wants to try a shot, he can. I also hate how I reinstalled my previous OS and i can't deactivate the computer anymore. Its very frustrating to contact dev for such small things.

Good morning.

Yes, Xpand2! does sound good and can be bought very cheap but for me iLok is a deal breaker imho.

I don't know why such a cheap plugin has such a complex and bad copy protection, isn't it better to have a simple serial lock system, especially considering that they have to pay ilok as well?

It's only that cheap when it's on sale.

Regarding the costs for the CP, and the benefits, no idea. I wouldn't even dare a guess. Seems to work for them.

Synthmaster and Xpand2 are also recommended :)
You make it sound like 10 000 banks is a good thing. I would say it's terrible, becsuse it takes too much time to go through them, and there are so, so, so, many bad presets you need to scan through to find the good ones.
Mac Mini M4 Pro | 14 Cores (10P/4E) | 48GB RAM | Studio One | Reason | Bitwig Studio | Logic Pro | FL Studio | Cubase Pro | Waveform | Reaper | Renoise | ~1000 VSTs/AUs | ~350 REs

Yes sir you are right, here is how scanning could be speeded up a bit if the OP could use some trickery to get it working in Linux (I use this, it's very good and it's free\option to support)

Synth1 works flawlessly on Linux, I can confirm. And this 'trickery' is just installing wine and clicking 1 button on linvst to convert 1 folder of plugins. It's very easy.

The biggest myth in music by far. There are many outstanding free/cheap plugins (hardware too!) and pricier ones which people express anything from mild to severe disappointment in. I'm not saying it's never true but there are so many exceptions to "you get what you pay for" that it's pretty much a meaningless statement.

More to the point of the OP, there are many freebie/cheap soft synth plugins which may surprise you at how good they are...u-he's stuff, Full Bucket's stuff, on and on it goes (not all have Linux but the OP said they could work around it). I'd check those to start. Agree on Synthmaster too; I got it at Plugin Boutique for $1 back when they had those sales (I miss those) and upgraded for pennies on the dollar later to the next "tier" or version of it and glad I did.

I do not agree on anything by Air however; such a royal PITA to even get installed and running that I felt I got ripped off when I paid $1 for Hybrid and deleted it.
