I contacted Sonic Assault about a problem that my McAfee AV was having with Kassiopeia!2.0. Jez sent me a link to an updated .dll file. I'm happy to say that on my computer McAfee AV has no problem with Kassiopeia!2.1.
I asked Jez if I could post the link to the updated .dll file on the KVR forum and he kindly said yes. (For some reason his Sonic Assault site is locked and he's unable to upload to it).
Kassiopeia!2.1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?8naefigpk939l2j
According to Jez, besides having a later version of the POLYPHONY_CONTROL.SEP module it also has a number of bug fixes and the polyphony is increased to 16 notes.
BTW I don't know for how long the link will be active.

I'm not sure what you mean by sketchy. Sonic Assault has been creating good plugins for years. The updated dll file is just that - the VSTi without any accompanying documentation or font files. I posted the link, with Jez's permission, because I think there are a number of others besides me who have enjoyed using Kassiopeia!, versions 1 and 2, and would appreciate having an updated version. If you don't already have Kassiopeia!2.0 you can download it from the Sonic Assault website.
The problem McAfee AV was having was a false-positve detection of the CK_POLYPHONY_CONTROL.SEP module - it seems to be a common problem with Synthedit plugins that AV's detect false-positives with this and other modules. I was unable to submit that false-positive to McAfee because I could find no way to do so. People using other AV programs have submitted CK_POLYPHONY_CONTROL.SEP to their AV providers and it was determined to be a false-positive.
Anyway, as I said, I'm glad to have Kassiopeia! working again on my computers!

The fact that the original author:hersoot wrote:I'm not sure what you mean by sketchy.
1) somehow can't get into their own webhost & post the update, or atleast notification about the issue
2) is relying on a user to post the update (which may or not have a trojan/virus)
3) even if can't get into own webhost, won't post on this forum or other well-known blogs to post the update.

I'm on Virgin Media. I used to have my broadband connection through a set-top box. Last year the broadband connection on the box failed - and I was so kindly informed that it was Virgin's policy not to repair broadband connections through the box, and therefore I needed to upgrade to a modem. Virgin said this would provide a faster and improved service.
What they didn't tell me was my original 50Gb web space, that I'd had since before Virgin bought the company from NTL, would be replaced by a 5Gb on-line storage space instead. So the first time I tried to upload to my site I find it won't accept any more files, and the result was the same after I'd removed some old redundant files.
To be honest, I got so f**ked off with it, I just couldn't be bothered to find another host and go through all the hassle of setting up another account. Up to now I've only been sending updates or bug fixes to anybody who took the time to contact me.
So there you go, nothing dodgy going on - just another pissed off service provider user.

Thanks for clueing us in, what a bummer! A simple "Yep, that is my release." would have worked alsoSonic Assault wrote:So there you go, nothing dodgy going on - just another pissed off service provider user.
May I suggest 1 or more:
? Setting up an "official" forum here on KVR
? Switching to a free blog space
? hosting files on one of the file hosting services that pay per download (I've made about $40USD on one file a few years ago)
? Some VST sites/blogs are also known to host files.
Wishing you the best!

I can verify that during November 24 2020, that mediafire link ( Kassiopeia!2.1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?8naefigpk939l2j (http://www.mediafire.com/?8naefigpk939l2j) ) is still active... Nice., 9 years and still active. I'm grateful.-

But you might like to try it's last ever release - Kassiopeia! 2.2: http://www.mediafire.com/file/j6l07a7bc ... 2.zip/file
It's got one trick over 2.1 - the envelope readouts now have editable text boxes. So you manually enter a numerical value for Rate in the DCO, plus Level and Rate in the DCW/DCA.
