I am looking at this - which is probably great on a MAC but I am struggling to get it to work on my PC. What I most like it for is as an effect - feeding it a sample or live mic and processing that through the physical modelling engine. I can get it to work sometimes but seems very unreliable
Anyways here is a video for what I want to do so I ask - are there any other physical modelling effect software for PC around?

I haven't seen this product before. Thanks for posting. Reminds me of the Impaktor app on iOS.

thanks for the help - after a bit of a struggle where I was dragged kicking and screaming to the manual I followed some clear instructions and got it to work reliably - amazing! For the price Substantia is a good deal for me - not yet got the contact mics happening but playing long samples through it is now working fine. try contact micing tomorrow probably

Interesting, didnt know about this, even though Ive got berna.

Tassman was dropped by AAS, but its the modular physical modelling construction kit that preceded stuff like Objeq Delay. Maybe try and find a demo version?

Zebrify, some Reaktor ensembles, and the Mutable Instruments Rings clones in VCV and Softube Modular would be some other options. More discussion here:

Curiously, I had only very recently discovered and acquired these (for PC): Quadrivium, Substantia, and BERNA2. Haven't loaded them yet, but am looking forward to it. The prospect of using a mic with Substantia was certainly a big plus.

EDIT: o i see now, that this thread starts with Substantia! ha! but Quadrivium was what i wanted, when i discovered these instruments. both are interesting, very interesting!

Yeah, I'd kind of given up on seeing more PC versions. Looks like they're not porting the older stuff, unfortunately.

Yes, that is unfortunate. It seems the latter two PC builds are quite recent. They are all fascinating (as is the developers other 'works'), and I'm assuming had passed my radar for having been mac only. Would have remained so, had it not been for a mention as an option on the sonicLAB and Hainbach "Fundamental" thread.

Berna is older than most those other apps, and it has a Win version.

I think he is just doing it one by one.

Seems like one per month?

Doesn't seem like he stopped or refuses to convert certain apps.

Cool! ^^^ Good to know. Thanks. :tu:
