You get 90 days, the support is a tier system so in order to reach somebody that actually knows the program, you have to pretty much tell the first guy you talk to that he's a dunce.... reading from the reference manual etc... I did get a hold of an old Emagic tech support guy, and got some clear answers. He's happy because the lower end guys will answer all the absolutely retarted questions that he should just yell RTFM at people about.Sascha Franck wrote:From what I've been reading on the LUG, you're entitled to 90 days of support.Paul_FX wrote: Apparently this isnt the case with L7. No support. nothing.![]()
However, as it seems this support is done via Apple, so the question remains whether you'll actually reach somebody even having a slight clue about Logic.
The odd thing about the service is if it's a bug in the program you do not pay. Considering 99% of the time I called Emagic it was because of a bug that others weren't sure about....
It is bullshit though, Apple have no idea that DAWs are way too complex to charge support for, and the video community is used to it. It makes sense if you think in terms of that, but considering that Sonar, SX, Digital Performer, Reason, Live, and others don't charge......
Once again, a perfect example of why KVR has a limited appeal to mac users.WilliamK wrote: One thing is true, the guys from Emmaple, dishing PC users. The other way around I could understand, but not like this. The PC market is very big, not to mention that building PC machines are way cheaper compared to MAC computers.![]()
Yeah you seem very sensitive and caring.......You are right. Thanks bud. Is just that I'm tired to be flamed by those underground-dogs, you know? And the worse, I get to be the "bad" guy on the end, while all I was doing was to defend my work. You see, I work every-day, several hours per day. This is my life, my full-time job, ... so I'm tired to get those negative words on me, that's all.

Now that I've got your attention, why in the world would you want to alienate a potential user base? I just don't get it? You find snobbery on both sides of the fence but not usually from developers?WilliamK wrote:Ohh yeahhhhh, working too much, so my brain is starting to get strange.Anyway, I will rest more and worry about coding, and not on what others say.

If you truly believe that there is no money in the mac market, realize that sitting down with one of the chief developers at Ableton, I was told their market share is 50/50.

I never dished the MAC market, is just too expensive to port things to MAC. Is not that simple as you may think. Ask around.
If you find someone ready to invest 20.000 U$ in our company, we may talk again about porting things to MAC.
Right now my idea is to keep things simple. Just that.
My comment about MAC was that companies that switches from PC to MAC are the worst cases, as MAC computers are very expensive for more hobbists around here. Don't you agree?

Is not just that. The most expensive thing is TIME.ttoz wrote:what about an $800 imac? you don't need 20000 for that. and I know your smart enough to learn the code.
Man, that sure will take me some time. Took me months for the PC.
Anyway, don't want to talk about this here...

It would have to be rgcAudio.
I mean - what a nobody company that is.
Who the f**k has even heard of the shit produced there?
What's this Pentagon, Square, Triangle?
And Z3ta - who the f**k would use that thing?
And sfz - what did someone sneeze or something?
I bet I haven't heard one tune all year with that junk in it.
Give it up and go home rgcAudio. How long can you stand to be a total failure?
Caleb
Anyways. River Plate won 2-0 against Boca Juniors last sunday. That's more than enough to keep me happy for two weeks
