Theo, just wanted to jump in quick here and defend WilliamK.

I'm a coder too, i'm guessing you're not! Its far from simply buying a new computer. Porting code to different platforms is usually much more complicated and time-consuming than that.

There very few instances where you can simply cut and paste the code and it works the same, or at all.

No argument with you mate, just pointing out why its not such a simple task. But maybe in the future WilliamK will have the time and budget

But it's OK if it's the other way around? It always sucks when a piece of software is discontinued for your platform of choice.

Anyway, my point was that I don't understand why you would want to gloat about platform in the least? PCs are cheaper, but macs have a very loyal following in the music community. I don't argue platform with my with my PC friends, and of course living here in Seattle 90% of the people I know are PC.

That you are not capable of spending the time it would take to learn to code for mac is valid, no doubt. I never accused you of abandoning mac. Hell I don't even know your work!

I find it interesting that the lion's share of the votes are for host developers.

I voted for DiscoDSP, just because they are absolute Nazi's on their forum. Tell a misunderstood joke, post a clever, yet ambiguous compliment, and poof, the whole thread is gone.

I'm still gettin Discovery tho, soon as I can afford it.

As for the best dev, I would never be able to decide, but I can tell you my criteria list begins with customer service and availability.
