After installing V4 my old V3.84 version (which I guess is still installed) crashes when starting, during the "Setting up user interface..." Call stack looks like some sort of recursion, calling the same function over and over again till it runs out of stack space.
But V4 starts/works just fine. So should I just uninstall V3, what about phrases and other settings, what do I need to do to remove the old V3 but not lose anything for V4?

first findings in official RC v4
i think Arpeggiator Generator needs Randomize button to use with Random & Random Neighbor modes
btw. shortcut "g" works as usual.

I had a crash working with voicings.. was playing with phrase overriding master track at the time..

I did a first session for testing the new stable RapidComposer 4.0. Watch the video here: .
Trying to harmonize for multiple adjacent melody phrases at once gave a strange result with merely the first clip being harmonized and the last chord stretched over the full phrase length. See this happen at 02:44 and 03:15 in the video.
Is this intended behaviour?
Another thing I couldn't get to work is changing the scale for multiple chords at once. When trying it, the scale is only changed for the first chord in a multi-selection (not shown in the video, found this in a later session).

And when can we safely make new requests, like, for instance, just as an example, adding multi part harmonies? With each voicing part a track and voicing set correctly for each track.. could be used to set different instruments to the different parts very quickly.. But, this is just an example request.. hehehe Still think bug crushing should be first..

This is done in my Ni Maschine. It is very convenient to choose the location of my files.

There is an update available for RC v4. Just click the check for update button in the support tab.
Actually, there is an update to the update. If you already have gotten the 4.01 update in the last few days, you will have to re-download it and install it again. It was updated to fix a serious bug..
The easiest way to do this is to re-install the v4.0 version again and then click the check for update button. Be sure to delete the first 4.01 update before you do.

Big bug.. Start with a new composition.. drop a percussion generator on the header of the track. Switch the track to percussion, and play.. Plays fine..
Now create a new track, drop Motive Generator down, double click to get to editor and hit play. It is playing the drum track for me.

Hi Matt,
this is frightening, I experienced the same. I am not able to open v3.84 anymore, and at the moment I have no idea why, since v4 works from a different folder, so the two should be totally independent. I'll have a fix shortly hopefully.

I watched the video, when I realized you did not press "Apply To Selection", so your changes in the phrase inspector were lost. Please always apply your changes, or enable Auto-Apply if that is more convenient.

This will be fixed in v4.02 which will be uploaded in about an hour.
The Melody Editor instrument should be set according to the source phrase.
Even if it plays the wrong instrument, you can still right-click on PLAY and select another instrument.

I can fix that with a simple surgery in the settings file.
What happened is that in a beta version, the format for storing color schemes has changed, and not in a backward compatible way, and I did not realize that.
If anyone experiences a crash when running v3.84, please either
- delete the settings file, or
- send the settings file (from Documents/RapidComposerV3/Settings) to me, I'll fix that, and will send the fixed file back to you. This way all your settings are preserved.
