Hi

I've had a look at the ableton forum and FAQ but couldn't find anything about the issue I am having with my midi controllers since installing the Live 11 beta. I've also written to ableton support and submitted a bug report at centercode.

I joined the beta and installed Live 11 last week. I also have Live 10 installed. Neither 10 or 11 are recognising Push2 or my ReMote25SL since I installed Live 11. They were both working flawlessly beforehand. Both controllers are connected to my laptop via a powered USB3 hub.

When I looked in preferences/midi the controllers are selected as control surfaces and as in and out, but the in out selections are greyed out. Neither controller is visible in Midi Ports, and so can't be selected.

I've tried switching them on after starting both Live 10 &11 and also switching them on after loading Live but they're not being seen and don't transmit or receive midi. I have also tried connecting them directly to a USB port on the computer but no difference.

I've never had any trouble with midi connections over USB before. Is there something I'm missing?
Any help appreciated.

It seems the beta knock out your midi engine, same thing happened to me on my mac, everything was fine, tried out Live 11 beta, played for a minute and closed it, studio one and Bitwig can’t open the midi engine and crashes.
I restart my mac and it tells me it shut down because of a serious error.
There’s something seriously wrong with this beta.

That's pretty damn serious. I hope they sort it out sharpish ... I can't work without midi connectivity. :|

I just restarted my pc and got a similar error message referring to power state. Windows took a while restarting, then I loaded up Live 10 and PUSH2 is working correctly, but the ReMote SL still displays "Ableton is OFFLINE".

I don't know if I dare try with 11 :scared:

I tried restoring the system to a point from before I installed Live11. Live 10 had a "serious error" and wouldn't start up, so I undid the system restore. I then started Live 10 and everything is back to normal ... ReMoteSL & Push2 are both working as expected.

Problem solved :phew:

I did, and they replied saying it was a Live 10 issue and I should contact support@ableton.com which I had already done. The beta was updated today, and my controllers are now all working in 11 as well as 10. I've let support know its fixed.
