Which ones have you tried?

The T-Racks Leslie took the Arturia B-3 V2 to another level imo. Therefore the Hammond B-3X probably sounds great too.

But does 'best organ' automatically means it has to be a Hammond? There are great combo organs too.

I have tried most of the usual suspects,but I have an aversion to sampled organs,so I used the NI B4 ll until Blue 3 V2 turned up...

Sampled organs are a turn off for me and don't rock my boat...

The thing I like about Blue 3 is that it uses tone wheels - additive synthesis - like a real Hammond..but it is not limited to just B3 type sounds and unlike most sampled organs,it feels "alive"...

I prefer using synths to samples where possible these days for so many reasons

Based on my brief and disappointing experience with NI Vintage Organs I understand what you're saying. Major step back compared to B4/B4 II. I'll stick to the Arturia organs.

I have Blue 3, Acoustic Samples B5 V3, NI Vintage Organs and the demo of IK’s B-3X. I also tried GSI’s VB3 v2 a while back.
My top three are B5 V3, B-3X and Blue 3.
In my opinion B5 V3 is the most realistic and authentic sounding Hammond VST that I’ve used to date. However, I don’t find it as intuitive as Blue 3 and B-3X. I find the workflow a little clumsy and some features like saving black key presets long winded. It is also quite cpu intensive.
B-3X has a more intuitive layout and sounds quite close to B5 V3. It still uses a lot of cpu like B5 but loads quicker and has a quicker workflow. I find the rotary, distortion and key click to be more realistic on B5 but B-3X does sound very good overall. However, I was using it on a project at the weekend and after I exported the track from Cubase, I found none of the expression pedal or rotary speaker changes had been exported?
Blue 3 doesn’t quite match the sound and authenticity of B5 or B-3X but it does have the most intuitive layout and uses noticeably less cpu than the others! The rotary, distortion and key click sounds off in my opinion but it is still a good sounding organ.

I tend to use Blue 3 the most for ease and convenience though B5 V3 does sound superb and will definitely be worth spending the extra time getting to know my way around it more thoroughly. Whilst B-3X sounds excellent as well, it doesn’t quite match B5 V3 in terms of sound and authenticity in my opinion.
Hopefully Blue 3 will be updated in the future with improved rotary, key click and distortion?

NI were too lazy to update one of the greatest products that they had ever released...A true tonewheel organ that was pretty damn good...

So they released that pathetic sampled organ for Kore and followed it up with Vintage Organs which really should have been called Vintage Turds and they kept banging on about how great they were...

Sure...They had the typical NI stellar GUI with the photo realistic BS,but unfortunately they failed the real taste test because they sounded like crap...

I don't have much to compare it with, but I picked up the IK Hammond B-3X earlier this year during the IK Group Buy deal. It seems like all I would ever need in a modeled organ emulation, and then some.

I do not have the full Arturia B-3 V, also modeled, but have the presets from that as well as the Farfisa in Analog Lab. They sound pretty good. Anyone interested in modeled organs should try out the demos of these.

For a pipe organ, I got Leeds Town Hall Organ a bit ago--it's free, but for Kontakt (not sure if it works with Kontakt Player). Man, the first day I got it, I went full-on Chief Inspector Dreyfus with it. If you have the storage space, give it a go.

I miss B4 and NuBi for Hammond organs. Like digitalboytn I don't much care for sampled B3 instruments, so while I was initially excited to hear about CollaB3 it left me a little cold. I ended up getting Blue3 and no longer miss the old ones.

The one exception when it comes to sampled B3s is HAMMR+ by Sound Dust. It has a lot of character and sounds great. (https://www.sound-dust.com/hammr)

For Voxy sounds, I miss Combo Sister - still technically available but only 32-bit. I've replaced it in part with Klevgrand Hillman (https://klevgrand.se/products/hillman). It's not a perfect representation but I don't think it's trying to be. I also use Martinic's free Combo Model V and Combo Model F. They have a pay-for VST called Elka Panther (https://www.martinic.com/en/products/elka-panther) that looks quite good but feels a bit pricey for me.

You can still use it with jBridge.

I also use Martinic's free Combo Model V and Combo Model F. They have a pay-for VST called Elka Panther (https://www.martinic.com/en/products/elka-panther) that looks quite good but feels a bit pricey for me.

I happen to own a Vox Super Continental. I don't see how you could expect a flawless VST emulation to sound anything other than cheesy, when most folks consider the original cheesy?

Good point

The Vox did power a lot of the hits in the 60's and 70's and it cut through the mix like a cheese knife

But the Hammond B3 is such a soulful beast that can take you from heaven to hell and back with no cheese

I like the EZkeys Pipe Organ from Toontrack. Otherwise I don't use organs that much and don't really have any preferences. I guess the Arturia ones aren't half bad either, at least not in my ears.
