Just like good ol' Barky Da Woof, I gotta take a sniff of this tune. With 'God lovin' Bush back in the Whitehouse, it's a wonder this song isn't going through the roof? Ahhh, but the 'rebelious son' was a democrat, I see.
Now to press PLAY....
Holy smokes - are you using a Yamaha DSR2000 dude? Man, I haven't heard this tones in ages. Don't tell me it's a newer PSR model - I will loose ANY shred of respect I ever kept for Yamaha!
Okay, the song - you got a great voice, and really like the juxtaposition of your lyrics. But if it wasn't for that dang DSR you had to work with, you might've got this done by Nov 1 to save Kerry's butt!
Even though I can see Chuck Barris dancing around like a idiot with a big hat on, and Jamie Farr acting like he's going to hit the gong with his mallet... I'm holding them back for you. I like how this song plays. Got a warm country feel to it. (which we are sadly lacking here.)
Get a newer PSR, flesh out the arrangement a bit, and praise the lord you'll be back for 2008!

It's a new Yamaha psr 3000.
The arrangement is pure vanilla. Will add harmonies to vocals. My guitarist/collaborator will add rhythm and lead.
The midi sounds won't be nealy as apparent then!!!
Thanks for your comments.

The lead almost lost me there for a moment. But I understand you're just 'fleshing the notes out to fill in the gap' for now. The piano work is actually very good!
For 'a demo' it has good potential. I would certainly like to hear it with a well worked in guitar for sure. And hopefully someday a full fledged band backing you.
But your basic arrangement, vocals and lyrics I give you top stars on. Best of luck.

In the next week there should be some lead and rhythm as well as vocal harmonies. I'm less concerned about bass and piano.
What do you think about picking up the tempo a bit? Does it seem to drag a little?

I like the BPM myself, if anything maybe just 1 or 2 notches faster? But I think with some real instruments in and backing, the tempo would work well as is?
It's funny though, if Kerry did win the Presidency - I'd probably be telling you to speed it the hell up.
But I think it's a good 'reflective' tempo, slightly melancholy. But given the subject matter and the fact poor John isn't in the oval office today, it works for me and I'm sure many other C&W fans out there.
Keep up the great work, and looking forward to hearing when your 'axeman cometh'.
