The goal is to make it look different as well :)

We're open to any suggestions regarding the layout. BTW, we can have multiple layouts.
These guys did the GUI for DS Audio Thorn and a few other delectable bits and pieces...

The Thorn GUI is a high quality work of art

Just my opinion, take it or leave it. What I find easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing, are layouts that arent wasting space, and offer the ability for you to have layers to each UI layout (sort of like serum, vital, LFO/ENV folders) I hate to bring up other vst's, as I know its important to put your own stamp on things, but I do think its very good to take inspiration from vst's that are known for ease of use. Equator 2 looks beautiful, it is visually appealing, Serum is known to be extremely efficient in how quickly you want to accomplish a sound. There is a certain modern look that is sort of expected moving forward from users, maybe not all users, but most enjoy something that looks very clean, modern, forward thinking, visually pleasing colors, intuitive use of space, the ability to easily access things like FX, MODS, and so on....I am starting to see a modern trend with synth vst's lately....Equator 2, Vital.....I think there is a shift for extreme ease of use, accessibility, and intuitive UI.

I hope that helps

Yes, exactly.....Also, the guy who did Serum is pretty good too. This is what Im talking about. Its a great idea to bring on someone like this for Synthmaster 3

Post

Hold up, that dude who did DS Thorn also has a Synthmaster IOS in his portfolio, did he do the IOS version?

Post

To add, if you are taking suggestions on the gui layout, I'd really like the oscillator section at the top instead of the bottom.

Not sure about Voger Design and an IOS version...

I'm a PC sort of guy,but not politically correct at all :)

I don't think that the answer for SynthMaster 3 is to have a gazillion GUI options...

One or two well designed, resizable GUI's would be the ticket....

The GUI's of DUNE 3 and Thorn are close to perfect and Vital - the new kid on the block - brings some good, fresh ideas to the table...

SynthMaster 2 sounds great,so it deserves to have a GUI as good as those synths too :)

I totally agree, I love a very simple, super clean, with colors that look a bit on the faded side, nothing bright and piercing on the eyes, something just very geometric, with good symmetry. It has to make lots of sense, and feel super accessible

Milisonics wrote: Fri Dec 04, 2020 11:48 pm Greetings Bullent. I would like to know, why we do not have the STEP option anymore, at LFO and Sequencers ? It was pretty handy. Is it gone forever, or will it be available again?

Also, at Layer window, near Routing adn ARP/SEQ, used to be the FX button also, for the FX of the layer... that button is gone also... for me that button had its use :) .

Also, at Modulations, when you choose a modulator to affect PHASE or FREQuency... The Modulator affects these two in a KEYTRACKING way if I can say so.. For example, the modalator rate is slower at lower keys, but increase at higher keys... is there any way to switch off that kind of tracking, in such a way that modulators behaves uniform on the entire keyboard? I tried to bring down the Key Tracking of the modualtor, but that one has no effect.

Many thanks for your hard work, and for this great program.

Hi there, let me answer one by one:

1. Regarding LFOs:
1.1. Command+Click will set step's initial or final level to the same value : Step mode
1.2. Alt-Click will set current step's initial to previous step's final : Glide mode

2. Regarding Layer FX: All effects are moved to the Effects tab

3. Regarding Keytracking in modulators: We don't have such a feature.

Hi, Bulent! Just installed the latest beta and it's amazing!

I am still a SM noob, so I'd like some help with this: When I go to the Browser and press "Online", the only preset available is the 1-299 Test Preset. There is a bank called "Online Presets" on my "Local" library. Is that the actual user-made public library of presets, or is there something going wrong with my SM?

Anybody know where the SM Player skin shown in front on this screen grab from the site can be found ?

Hi guys,

Thanks for your patience. I just released a new update (Rev 10158)

Here are the fixes in this build:

1. FIX: When a sample is playing at high speeds (phase increment > loop length), SynthMaster crashes
2. FIX: Older presets that use more than one Step/Glide LFOs are not loaded correctly
3. FIX: When older presets are loaded, waveforms might not load, resulting in blank display+silent sound
4. FIX: When mseg envelope length is zero, SynthMaster might crash
5. FIX: When recording arp steps, SynthMaster freezes
6. FIX: SynthMaster should validate control value changes for loop start/end parameters
7. FIX: SynthMaster might crash when user clicks on "Forgot Serial Number" button during activation
8. FIX: LFO/Sequencer phase/position is not reset correctly in Mono+Legato mode
9. FIX: XY View control doesn't work correctly
10.FIX: SynthMaster 2.9.9 Beta doesn't save basic waveforms (sine, triangle, square, sawtooth, pulse)
11.FIX: Textbox colors are incorrect when editing

There are also improvements/new features:

1. Added keyboard input to enable playing notes via QWERT keyboard
2. Modulation source buttons are now highligted to indicate that they have modulation sources
3. Improved workflow for sample import.
4. Uploaded presets submitted by Track Contest 2020 contestants to Public User Library
