Cubase 11 Sampler. Need details on drag/drop/transfer so I don't need an external app.

For awhile now I've had to make samples with external applications outside of Cubase, prepare and save them in a directory, and then load up Cubase and pull them from the file explorer to work them in other VSTs inside Cubase. This is getting old quick.
I know I can also record something, cut it, Alt P and export the sample, save it, load it back up in a VST -- but then there's many extra steps involved especially if you're just experimenting and trying things out. I feel there HAS to be an efficient way to do this all inside Cubase, hence this post.
Since I'm now on 11, I've been digging more and more into Cubase's sampler lately (thanks Vital!) hoping some of those shortcomings were addressed, and have a couple questions hopefully some of you Cubase gurus can chime in on.
1. Is there a way to drag/drop a sample (cut in the track, in the sample pool, or in the sample track/editor) directly into a VST (like Vital Waveform)? (NOT from the file explorer) I want to grab a sample from inside Cubase and drag it into the VST for processing. Or is there a better way to do this?
2. Cubase has an option in the sampler area to "Transfer to:" and offers Groove Agent or Padshop. I notice there's other options greyed out -- is there some way to add the VST of your choice in that menu? Or is there a better way to do this too?
If neither of those two are possible, what workflow do you guys have when working samples within Cubase? There's people out there that do a TON of sample work in Cubase (Infected Mushroom being one), so I know its more than capable. I feel I may be missing something crucial, either in workflow, the way I think about samples, or something.

1. Some plugins allow, some don't.
2. The Transfer only works for Steinberg plugin products, and it will of course only show you the ones you have licenses for (installed) on that computer.

If that's the case, perhaps a 3rd party VST inside Cubase make sampling work less of a chore? NOT something like Halion. I mean specifically for importing/dragging into other VSTs minus a few steps.
Also reiterating the last part of my original message: What workflow do you guys have when working samples within Cubase? I feel I may be missing something crucial, either in workflow, the way I think about samples, or something.
Am I asking too much? I'm sure I can find a cheap/free alternate APP or something that could, you'd think Cubase would have this in spades.

I prefer to use New Sonic Arts Vice for my chopping needs, it's fast and effective, plus it has some major updates coming in the pipeline.

Very interesting , thank you - I'll check that out later today.
Cubase, one of the oldest and most feature rich daws, still can't simply cut/drag and save a sample to a folder or other vst.
