hi . does anyone know how mike made the cool portamento bell sound in the song foreign affair?

thats imposible i have that synth it doesnt have that sound

I bet you don't. It costed the same as a fleet of several nice cars in 1980.

I bet it can create that sound with the proper sample. It can do quite a bit more than just factory presets.

^ Arturia have a Fairlight emulation so he could have that. But Fairlight is all over that album so almost certainly was the source of that sound, bearing in mind it could record original sounds too being, like, a sampler...

Yeah, Mike had access to tons of instruments, so may very well have sampled his own bells, glocks whatever it is. Some gilde/porta. I don't think it's in the factory presets. I have the Arturia and will check.

Its not an unusual sound, it could be made with many synths (and plugins).
