So... can we say that DS Thorn is now abandonware?

Maybe abandonCare?

Yeap, more accurate... sadly...

It isnt. Spoke to Dmitry a few weeks ago. He is working on two other things currently. One PA already pre announced. He will get back to Thorn once those two are completed.

These aren't bad at all.

Ya, word is that Tantra 2 will come out soon. It may be that some of that development could cross over to Thorn's sequencer and effects?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Anyhow, should it be abandoned, I wouldn't gripe--got it for $15.00

In another thread I had listed it as my vote for the most underrated synth. I don't look at it being money wasted, but more so potential to be great wasted, if it were abandoned. But I am satisfied that it isn't currently anyway.

Shame Dmitry can't give some love to Diversion as well. Great sounding synth with one of the highest CPU demands at least in my folder.

I spoke to Dmitry right before PA took over Thorn. He was working on a new version of Diversion but who knows now what is gonna happen. I still love that synth!

He got diverted

Dmitry is a smart cookie who knows a thing or two about coding great musical tools :tu:

Thorn is a really nice synth

Thorn has something special/unique, but the smallest of signal path options would make all the difference to how useful it is. Just the option for an oscillator to bypass the filters would allow for proper bass sound design.

Sorry I have no idea.
Maybe ask Tim @ TTU whose patches they are.
