So I bought a new Mac Mini a few months ago before the announcement of the new M1 Macs - silly mistake. Being a newbie I left it on automatic update and it updated itself and some of my old Apps no longer worked. So I wiped the disk and downgraded to Mojave and turned off automatic updating.

Today I decided to give Garageband a go - only it is now only available for Big Sur and there is nowhere to download an old copy. Ho-hum welcome to the wonderful world of Macs.

On top of that today I have found out that things are not simple as we are led to believe with regard to drivers. I had to print something today with my Dell laser printer which just works on windows 10 - Only on the Mac it required searching the net for a driver before it worked.

On top of that I have just tried to view a .webp image. Only macs do not allow you to without downloading stuff and using command lines in a terminal. On windows I just renamed them to .jpg and they worked.

Using a terminal on a Mac ?

Whats that about then ?

Rant over.
