not good enough. will be swamped in Xmas preparations and expenses. count me out.
admit it or not, you mistimed this thing completely. announcing it too early seems to have also backfired and you found yourselves running development team to the ground to release it asap, under pressure. and still it's coming out late.
you kinda started off early, but still came last to the finish. I'll grab this thing next year on a major sale when all the hoopla settles.

AmpliTube 5 has been available to pre-order since October 29th. If you were planning ahead, yes of course you might still have Christmas expenses etc. I understand that the timing didn't work for you but it has worked for others who have pre-ordered and/or are excited for the release.
I do not understand the speculation into our process (there's no "running development team into the ground" etc out of the ordinary process for this as we've stated from the go that the target was by the end of the year) so for others reading said speculation I'd say take any of that with a grain of salt. This introductory pricing is good through the end of the year and the sale you are waiting for will likely be almost a year coming and will, based on past experiences with the flagship products from IK, be around or more likely exactly back to introductory pricing.
But still thank you for your input into your opinion and whether this is for you, minus the speculation as that is not correct.

Exactly as I predicted. It was obvious IK were playing this game. They know most won't be able to demo just before Christmas, so they're relying on people just buying it without demoing as the price will go up before they can. If they were a professional outfit, IK would extend this till the end of January.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 6:51 pm The team informs me that (barring unforeseen major crises) December 15th is the AmpliTube 5 release date.
Cynical move to say the least.
Just wait a year till it's half price: don't play their game.

Not only I won't have money during pre-Xmas time or past Xmas or anything New Year and a good chunk of January, because we celebrate big time this time of year, none the less important thing is! I won't have the proper amount of time and space and peace, for demoing and making my purchase decision prior to buying, in case you missed my point. If you were planning ahead, yes of course you might still have Christmas expenses etc
This time is completely swamped with preparations. this is not the time to sit around with your guitar for days, demoing patches. maybe someone can allow themselves the luxury, but for me it's totally the wrong time.
Are you not dad, uncle, brother, yourself? Are you a loner living in a cave somewhere? You're not and I think you understand what I'm saying very well. Xmas is not the time for demoing software, as simple as that.
When I say you timed it poorly, yes, for me you did time it poorly, that's it.
I never said I was going to pre-order, in the first place. I wasn't gonna do it, that's not what I do, regardless what product. I wanted to demo the software prior to making my decision.
Peter, the only guy misunderstanding and speculating here is you. You completely overlooked the point of what I was saying, jumped the shark and found yourself in a silly position.
I have to say, you are extremely inappropriate for the job that you're doing. There's some cynical, negative undertones coming from you, just alienating vibes. I mean, do I speak to a company rep or a part-time comedian, some George Carlin wannabe? But that's for your company to take into consideration.

Some people will complain about anything.
If you can’t make any time for music creation and don’t have any money for music creation tools, that’s on you. Maybe you have the wrong hobby.
Looking forward to AmpliTube 5 here. Glad to see it’s on time and ahead of schedule.

So let me get this straight. A company that sells stuff for a living should avoid releasing and selling a new product during the holiday season (2nd largest buying period of the year) because it doesn't align with your schedule and finances? Uh yeah, makes perfect sense to me.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

No. What makes sense is not to launch it two weeks before Christmas. Lots of people will have already done their shopping and it's just generally a busy period, so not being able to demo is highly likely.

So a company with stuff to sell on the holidays has to do so in your financial window only? Got it.Mr Arkadin wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:18 pmSJ_Digriz wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:15 pm So let me get this straight. Again, jumping the shark, jumping over the point, doing it on purpose. that BS will not pass.If you can’t make any time for music creation and don’t have any money for music creation tools, that’s on you.
I have the time and the money more than you can dream of, son, but not two bloody weeks away from NY, one bloody week from Xmas. do you get it, son?
Because there are things to do. maybe not for you, though. maybe you're banging your guitar at night and that's your life partner and that comforts you. I don't mind, I don't judge. different strokes for different folks.
But normal people have tons things to attend to, lots of real, living and breathing dear people to attend to, and that's OK, that's normal.
Whatever, man. I don't need your judgement and your BS.
I made my point and it's a legitimate one. They timed it poorly for me, poor enough so I'm not buying the product at this time.
If this is not a good enough reason to yes, maybe admit they didn't think this through to the end, and the management of it could be better, including the timing of it, well, then maybe entitlement has no boundaries, after all.
It's not that I'm surprised, really. Entitlement and bigotry are two things we've been witnessing for the past chunk of years and it must have given some people a wrong impression of how they should conduct themselves.

So you’re mad that IK is meeting the release date they set months ago?Mr Arkadin wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:18 pmSJ_Digriz wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:15 pm So let me get this straight. Usually it’s the opposite.

Oh, I’m definitely picking up on an entitlement vibe here.minkray wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:24 pmAgain, jumping the shark, jumping over the point, doing it on purpose. that BS will not pass.If you can’t make any time for music creation and don’t have any money for music creation tools, that’s on you.

No, I'm saying it is irrelevant. They release when they choose to release, and you consume when you choose to consume ... your next post about entitlement is fairly on point to my assessment.jamcat wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:29 pm So you’re mad that IK is meeting the release date they set months ago?

again ... when they choose to release. It's up to them. It's up to you to buy/not buy. Simple. No angst required. Just because it doesn't meet your convenience window simply doesn't matter. It's Christmas. They are selling stuff. It's a totally new idea.Mr Arkadin wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:38 pmlol, what? Sure they can do what they like. I can also call it out as a cynical marketing move.SJ_Digriz wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 9:40 pm again ... when they choose to release. It's up to them.
