Roli: Equator 2 is here !

Has anyone managed to get a program change to work in Equator 2?
Seaboard Rise 49 has nice +, - keys to allow changing patches in Equator 1.
The keyboard area in my studio is not close to my computer so to audition sounds I have to walk across the room. Those buttons still work great in Equator 1, why would they remove that functionality?
I've also tried several other ways to change patches and Equator 2 never responds to PC.
And yes I've already gotten a ticket with Roli and no response, I created the ticket the day Equator 2 was released.
I will say I am most impressed with 2's capabilities, can't wait to try my own samples with it.
And cool about the SFZ format, I hope to explore that soon.
Dirk
p.s. you can disable Roli Connect at startup in Win10, login once a month for updates and all is good, Equator 2 can function fine without it.

I have to wonder what machine they used when they made the new presets, because about 60% of them won’t play on my i7 3.4 ghz machine without buffer overruns like rice crispies with a fresh milk pour. Even at 128 samples of buffer. Similar patches in something like Omnisphere seem to work fine.

Really? I'm finding the CPU use to be quite low, just like the original. I'd put it in the same ball park as DUNE. It's something I reach for when I don't want to waste too much CPU on a part.zerocrossing wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 3:36 amI have to wonder what machine they used when they made the new presets, because about 60% of them won’t play on my i7 3.4 ghz machine without buffer overruns like rice crispies with a fresh milk pour. In my case a 2015 Macbook Pro i7 2.9Ghz.zerocrossing wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 3:36 am I have to wonder what machine they used when they made the new presets, because about 60% of them won’t play on my i7 3.4 ghz machine without buffer overruns like rice crispies with a fresh milk pour. Let me know which presets you find too high in CPU use and I will have a look.
If there are particular presets that you are keen to play but the high CPU use prevents you, try reducing the polyphony voice count. In most cases, you can set it to 12, 10, even 8 voices, which might be all you need on the more complex and busy patches. We tried to set the polyphony carefully, to optimise each patch, but I wonder if some got through with the default 16 voices (that is, 16 voices in a heavy patch, which may not be needed, while something simple like a piano, will need 16 voices).
Also, I find that for many sounds like pads, complex textures, or some of the multi-layered ‘combination’ patches, I don’t need a buffer setting of 128 samples. 256 is also perfectly fine. So try this too.

I've somewhat narrowed down this issue of notes cutting off in Bitwig. It only happens when the project is playing, and the notes cut off at the start of the next bar, which is why they seemed to be cutting off at different times when I was playing. And why I could write in a note that was longer than a bar and it would not sustain the whole clip.
I've been checking the settings to find if there is anything that could be causing this but it happens with the new init patch as well as patches so I think it must be a bug.

Another useful video to check it out by Protoculture
Struggling with touchscreen for now, might just be me, or something they can sort (seems to always choose modulation of any tweaked control dial, rather than just alter the main dial).

It adjusts modulation if a modulator is selected, and adjusts the dial itself if no modulator is selected. If you are adjusting modulation and don't want to, just touch the modulator header to unselect it. I think it's perfect for touch screens. Though unusable for me currently due to notes stopping at the end of each bar.whannel wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 2:20 pm Struggling with touchscreen for now, might just be me, or something they can sort (seems to always choose modulation of any tweaked control dial, rather than just alter the main dial).

Does anyone know when Roli is going to have more Seaboard Rises in stock? I put myself on their "inform me when these are available" list for the 49 key version. Has production halted due to COVID-19?

Try this overview video. This link should be bookmarked at the time where the topic of Modulation starts (2min47sec):

Can any other Bitwig users in Windows confirm this?Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 1:06 pm I've somewhat narrowed down this issue of notes cutting off in Bitwig. Can you give me a precise use case? what patch, what notes? I'm on win10, BW 3.3 and I'm not seeing it. Are you playing over a MIDI track that has been recorded already? etc.
