I've finally come through, but their upgrade offers are imo quite expensive. I pass for the time being.

lol, this happens every time they release a new V collection. The website becomes nearly impossible to navigate / load, download times (if you can get to them) are in hour-long multiples....it's just chaos for a while.

Yep, up to $299 upgrade from V6 now for me. Looks like I'm going to wait the traditional 6 months for the half price sale, again... Not a big deal, but I kinda wish this whole sale VS upgrade cycle didn't exist. Arturia, NI, IK, Ableton, iZotope etc. etc. all release great products with convoluted systems of extracting money from early adopters of even upgrades. It's their choice but it sets up a weird precedent. Owning things from all of them it's always a game of patience to not spend hundreds more a year for the same thing.martinjuenke wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 8:09 pm I've finally come through, but their upgrade offers are imo quite expensive. The Arturia upgrades always gave you a couple of new instruments. And even free updates to the synths you own if you don‘t upgrade. As a bundle in a sale each of those added instruments had a reasonable price as upgrade price. Nothing to complain here...

Now I've finally been able to update I've been playing with some of the new synths in Analog Lab and the updated Stage-73.
For some reason I'm finding the Stage-73 is very very quiet when the amp is on, but very loud with the amp off. Setting the amp volume also doesn't seem to make any difference. Anyone else getting that happen? I'm on Win10 Pro x64 latest build.

same for video games, most are $60 at launch then a year later you can buy em for $20. It pays to wait if you can.machinesworking wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 9:41 pmYep, up to $299 upgrade from V6 now for me. The world comprises people with hugely different incomes. I don't blame them (NI, Arturia etc) for pricing high to start with to let those with large enough wallets pay the higher prices they can easily afford, and then reduce the prices for the other plebs like me later. I try to think of it as the rich subsidising what I end up paying.

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

How does this work?Sequent wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 5:27 pm And yet... I am now at my studio computer and I'm happy to say that the majority of my V Collection 7 synths DID get updated. This makes me feel much better because it means that they haven't changed their previous policy. It also makes me feel better about moving ahead with upgrading to V Collection 8.
I am only getting an update for the Synthopedia, nothing else... at least through the ASC.
Now i found the single installers but i think its gonna be demos only.
Ok, so updates NOT working and the single installers are demo versions only - as expected.
And again: How did you get the V7 instruments updated?
EDIT:
Now the updates show up in the ASC, seems to be a temporary issue...

Yes, I think there seemed to be some issues yesterday, but it seems to be okay today.kinkajou wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 4:22 pmHow does this work?Sequent wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 5:27 pm And yet... One year later... Still hoping for these features.Lotuz2019 wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2019 2:48 pmStill hoping for the ability to load 35 samples per track. And if this is added, then I'd like to see a sample import feature that recognizes the key in the name of the sample file like Halion can. That would be very handy and timesaving if you want to import 35 samples per track. Much more convenient than drag & drop.Lotuz2019 wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2019 1:17 pmIt sure is tempting. I think it's a cool VSTi. Have tested the demo a couple of months ago and I like the interface and the lofi sound it adds to your own samples. I've been trying to recreate it with Halion and lofi plugins, but it's not the same experience.Caine123 wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:15 am How is the sound/sampling in mellotron? Are you finding it nice sounding? For 99 bucks for 3 new synths and more sounds it is tempting
There was one thing I'd like to see improved though and that's the ability to load one sample per key instead of one sample per three keys. Hopefully that's been addressed already or will be soon.
Also on my wish list is an ageing feature for each separate tape including dropouts. I know, I could fabricate my own aged tapes using a plugin like ToneBoosters ReelBus 4 or Audiothing Reels in my wave editor for example, and that would save CPU, but to have this inside Mellotron V would be nice though.
And besides Mechanics and Noise a Hum feature would be welcome too. This shouldn't be hard to add to Mellotron V, I guess. You could add and insert effect that produces hum, but again to have this inside Mellotron V...

Managed to update the whole VC7 collection, including installing Analog Lab V on my system. However, none of the presets for E-II V and Vocoder V are working, as they are missing the sample files...
Anyone else noticed this? I'm not asking for the whole of the new instruments to be installed if I haven't upgraded, but it would be nice if at least a selection were working, especially since the Jun-6 presets work fine.
