Hi folks,
will finally have a space for a small studio soon. I have made a small list of reasonably priced monitors - what would you recommend out of these - has anyone used 2 or more of these monitors - what is best for mixing edm.
Not got alot to spend but im looking for a durable monitor that i can get to know in the room and use in conjunction with my trusty 990-pros

Another guy asked something similar not a long time ago. He got all kinds of answers. Then he went to a store, personally tried monitors from different manufacturers and eventually chose a pair of Focal Alpha.

I would suggest the Yamahas or possibly the Kali LP6.
Unless you're in a good or treated room, 8" speakers are really just too big.
HS7's are ubiquitous for a reason. Mixes on them translate well. I have a pair here as a second set to my mains, I love them. I've tried most of the rest too, but still prefer the HS series.

That's what I'd do as well. Go to a store, and ask them to demo them. I had 2 different "studio" monitors, the M-Audio BX5a, and now my JBL LSR305, and, TBH, I'm not super excited about either. They do it for me, and, they're also better than the BX5a's, but, I wouldn't say I'm super happy with them. Always better to hear something in person, I guess, opposed to a blind bargain.e@rs wrote: Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:49 pm Another guy asked something similar not a long time ago. Went to a music store and spent some time testing all different models. Walked away with the Focal Shape 50s and couldn't be happier. The sound blew me away and I liked it best from all the ones I've tested. If I'd wanted to spend less, I'd have gotten the Adams T7Vs. For that price they were excellent. Especially for EDM.

That was me indeed, and I haven’t regretted a single day choosing the Focal’s. If you are ready to spend a bit more I would highly recommend theme@rs wrote: Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:49 pm Another guy asked something similar not a long time ago. He got all kinds of answers.
