I do hope that Reason Studios feel some kind of obligation to their customers for being so late with the scalability. This should have been included in a 9.x or 10.x update. Let's hope they have the guilty conscience they should have and give us this update for free in an 11.5 release.
Mac Mini M4 Pro | 14 Cores (10P/4E) | 48GB RAM | Studio One | Reason | Bitwig Studio | Logic Pro | FL Studio | Cubase Pro | Waveform | Reaper | Renoise | ~1000 VSTs/AUs | ~350 REs

They should, but their conscience will probably be inside their wallets...starflakeprj wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:41 amLet's hope they have the guilty conscience they should have and give us this update for free in an 11.5 release.

I know, it sounds silly, especially since I have scolded their support a couple of times for having such an unfriendly business model towards loyal customers
One can only hope...

There is 0 chance of an update of that scale being free.starflakeprj wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:41 amI do hope that Reason Studios feel some kind of obligation to their customers for being so late with the scalability. The chance is not good, I agree, but I believe there might be a 1-2% change at least. Otherwise I don't know what they will release as a point release. Or have they skipped the point release at some point going directly from major to major?Kongru wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 7:58 pmThere is 0 chance of an update of that scale being free.starflakeprj wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:41 amI do hope that Reason Studios feel some kind of obligation to their customers for being so late with the scalability. All programmers and software developers should work for free. Screw meals and housing. Unnecessary luxuries.

Point updates are always free for Reason, full number releases are paid about once every two years.jonljacobi wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 11:51 pm All programmers and software developers should work for free. Screw meals and housing. Unnecessary luxuries.
IMO Reason costs a similar amount to stay up to date as Live and Cubase, but with a different model of what you spend over a certain time period.

I prefer the Reason model because you’re free to upgrade whenever you wish and it doesn’t become cumulatively more expensive over time if you skip versions.

I can't wait! I wonder what the hi-res devices will look like in a rack with 3rd-party RE though...

No, there were three x.1 releases and some smaller bug-fixing updates to R11 already...
but yeah, it's been rather lackluster if one:
1) is using Reason itself as a DAW and has no interest in using it as a plugin in other DAWs
2) is not using a Mac in one of its many shapes...
Beatmap aside (which personally I have close to zero interest too - after trying it out, that is - not everyone is doing random electronic tinkering that goes nowhere

Yes, you can. It's a Reason 12 feature.
