Probably because you are in the update section. You need to mouse over V Collection 8 in the product section and do "install all".

I checked every option including any way to perhaps update my ASC some way, but the only way I found is to open my account at Arturia and download installers manuallymountainmaster wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 12:37 pmProbably because you are in the update section. Well, just did a test of the factory patches from Jup-V3 vs Jup-V4 (demo) and it's water and wine. Now it really sounds like a analog model. To be fair, Jup-8 V3 does good on some patches, but most of them I couldn't make right due to the terrible envelopes and bad emulation in general. Now it's really a proper Jupiter emulation!

FWIW, I don't see AL5 in my account on the Arturia website, but it does show in ASC as a product under Analog Lab 4.MBeeching wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 12:36 pmShould be available as a free/optional update. It's not yet clear to me if it supposed to be a free update. I'll just wait for the dust to settle since the significant reduction in presets is a bit of a head scratcher.

Pretty Sure AL5 is a free upgrade from AL4, I have V6 only and when I downloaded AL5 it hast come up with a demo screen, seems to be fully working.

Actually the Emulator V isn't that lofi imo. Based upon my experiences with the Emax and SP-12 Turbo I had expected it to sound rawer like a Mirage for example. I wish there was a way to set the DAC mode inbetween Vintage and Modern to let more aliasing through without sounding too bright. But instead they've added a bitcrusher effect which I think doesn't belong on a vintage sampler. But the Emulator V is cool nonetheless.ecasasmusic2 wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 12:45 am - EMU is OK. I was not interested in factory sounds from Emulator II, I don't really need a Lo-Fi sampler. But many of the new samples and presets are interesting and sound good, so it may be useful after all.

OK, thanks. I saw a post on another forum where an Analog Lab 4 user said v5 wouldn't activate, and speculation that it is a paid upgrade.SLiC wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 3:56 pm Pretty Sure AL5 is a free upgrade from AL4, I have V6 only and when I downloaded AL5 it hast come up with a demo screen, seems to be fully working.

Can you uninstall v7 collection after you install 8? Are the files completely different?

They should, if I remember correctly, be the same files, unless Arturia has released a newer version.functionform wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 4:08 pm Can you uninstall v7 collection after you install 8? Are the files completely different?

Solved it. Looks like Arturia Center is not installing the standalone version. I have downloaded the separate installer from the website for Jun 06 and it installed the standalone version and works fine now.

Yeah, since I am an owner of v3, the offer to upgrade to v4 for 29 bucks seemed like a low-risk proposition.waltercruz wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 1:57 pm Well, just did a test of the factory patches from Jup-V3 vs Jup-V4 (demo) and it's water and wine. Firing it up and comparing, it's incredible how much they've improved it. Years ago in the V collection 6 or 7 thread, Arturia said they'd eventually update some of their old stuff and I dismissed it as hogwash. They came thru in a big way, so big props to them. The new version sounds LEGIT and gives me the feels.

Where do you see a $29 upgrade path? By chance, do you have Jup-8V single, not bundled on Collection? I can only see a $299 upgade path for the whole collection...XpanderDude wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 4:22 pm Yeah, since I am an owner of v3, the offer to upgrade to v4 for 29 bucks seemed like a low-risk proposition.

That's exactly what it was - I am not a V collection owner; I have a bunch of singles I've acquired over the years. The same thing had happened when Matrix 12V went to V2 as well.waltercruz wrote: Wed Dec 09, 2020 4:26 pmWhere do you see a $29 upgrade path?
