3 hours ago the arturia center showed me the updates
i clicked "update"
in the middle of download it stalled
pause, cancelled, reinvoced...:nothing helped - kept stalling
relaunched center
no updates available
after another hour suddenly the software center re-installed (updated itself)
and there was the update again
finally downloaded within 20 sekonds
all fine as far as i can see

it seems they have pulled the update and reuploaded it again
softwarecenter also seems to have a different splashscreen

the "new preset library" seems to be a slightly new look, maybe freshly coded?
a new side panel when the midi-cockwheel is clicked (opens up/expands on the right side)

This one is a really welcome addition. It shows an MIDI configuration page which I don't know if ever existed in older version. With this now I'm happy to map my controller to Pigments.

Glad to see Pigments becomes more and more feature-rich and user-friendly. One thing I would like to see in the future is a (simplified) Preset List displayed at left-side and doesn't occupy the whole interface (pretty much like Melda). That way we can have real-time visualization of what's being changed when flipping through presets. At least make that an option.

Yes I think Melda's preset-handling and their overall framework for different plugins are pretty awesome, even though I've only demoed a few lol.

they call it "preset library" i suppose

browsing it seem to have become faster, i think
esp with sample/wavetable feels snappier

me naivly was hoping for another (3rd) Xmas update with new engines (physical-modeling? fm?) and more bells&whistles...but well...

Hi! I'm newbie to Pigments 2. Have a question about VCA envelope : why it restart without release for same notes , for example , if I set long release and will playing chord , then push notes again - release of previous notes will be stopped .

you have too few notes polyphony methinks...

select the keyboard tab
in the "play settings" select a higher polyphony (above "mode")



increase it to 16 or 32

"Reassign" was the normal behaviour when Pigments was released, then most of us complained about it and they added "Rotate" which is how all other synths handle their polyphony.

I'm also a pigments noob. What are some tips to keeping CPU usage low? Is it similar to Serum - keep poly low, don't use reverb FX, etc?

Pigment has an unfixed bug. When unison is used and you set the Phase Distortion or Wavefolding knobs to a non zero values, then Pigments starts playing very randomly. Hitting the same key will result in constant random modulating effect. Once you turned off the Unison, the problem disappears. Very annoying, considering that phase retrigg is set to zero.

I get "grind" noises when sweeping with filters, and also when using the pitch bend wheel. Is this normal behavior for Pigments, or am I missing an HQ setting or something?
Here's an audio file showing what I mean using a simple sine wave. You can hear it on distorted leads too, though. First part is pitch wheel grind, later is filter sweep (where it's much more obvious). The "grind noise" happens with any filter I've tried so far...

You just need to open the link in a new tab and it plays fine. I only get that "grind" when using the Surgeon filter type, the rest are smooth as silk.

Let me show you a little Dropbox trick that I use all the time. Replace the dl=0 part of your link with raw=1. Now it will play here.
