Maybe it's a matter of monitor contrast.

could be.
it looks ok on my phone in your image, which is why i suggested contrast rather than brightness, as it did look like the white might be too much if brighter.

In my edit on the last page I checked and the brightest parts of the text are RGB 255,255,255 which is pure white.
I just switched to 135% size and it's much better and I'm blind as a bat.

Hmm, ok, it might be white, ok. Then i will apply other words - inhomogeneous, patchy, impure. lol. I need to check if this can be improved. Maybe it is due to pixels. I have FHD, 15' screen.

but they do have an issue with there being no high frequency content as far as they can tell...fisherKing wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:15 pmyou say that, but... the bats i know who are using vital said they did not have an issue with text at 100%...Teksonik wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:04 pm In my edit on the last page I checked and the brightest parts of the text are RGB 255,255,255 which is pure white.

All kidding aside I'm seeing reports on the Vital forums of people not being able to see the GUI at all.
White screens, black screens. Systems not being OpenGL 1.4 capable even though 1.4 was released in 2002.
EDIT: I see Matt just clarified the issue:
"It’s actually OpenGL 3.2 and shader language 1.4. OpenGL 3.2 came out in 2009 so I guess it’s possible that computer doesn’t support it".

it's definitely not unreadable, the purpleish i can maybe see some people having an issue with maybe if they have any colour blindness? i do not know!
but the white looks fine, i think it's the background being a sort of washed out grey/black that makes the contrast as it is. maybe if igro adjusts his monitor contrast a percent or 2?
are you sat in a room with either excessively bright lights or very dim ones, this will also effect how you are seeing things on the screen.

well if it requires open gl and they don't or can't get it, not much anyone can do.Teksonik wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:35 pm All kidding aside I'm seeing reports on the Vital forums of people not being able to see the GUI at all.

i know some people like to use an older pc/os but they can't expect devs to not use newer technologies.
so not sure what anyone could suggest other than a rewrite of the synth, which im sure no one wants
least of all matt!

Yeah, 1080p on 15' is quite the pixel density, meaning the pixels are rather small. I could imagine how a 1px weight font could be hard to read on that for some.
