I wouldn't call BS on those statistics but would caution in general on ll those polls in general. In the end, these are a bunch of numbers that can prove everything and nothing.

Just the headline "Popular DAW" is completely meaningless. The number of polled people of over 3,000 sounds impressive but again is meaningless.

To have any kind of indication, you have to be very specific. Are these people using the DAW for music composition, for music production, for film mixing? This will skew the results extremely in a specific direction. All the film mixing engineers are using DAWs, but I would guess Pro Tools would be in the 90% range, where the same app would be more in the 5-10% range for music composers.

Again, to throw all these users together makes the result meaningless. In the end, it is more a feel-good exercise that you belong to the group of popular kids on the playground.

The following sentence about Logic )on their website) raises my flag to question their competence in general. I would argue that there is no Logic 11, and saying that there were not many flashy new features, proves that the author has no clue what he is talking about.
...There have been no notable updates (i.e. Logic 11), and though it doesn’t have many flashy features, there have been consistent small updates and additions to sounds...

Let the marketing team of the individual DAW sort through the information and don't waste your time on those pseudo statistics, and instead, make music with the DAW you have. In the end, it just adds to the useless discussion about "My DAW is better than your DAW", just disguised as "My DAW is more popular as your DAW".

For the hit records in USA, I would say Ableton/Logic/ Fl Studio. For mixing Pro Tools.

Shocking that no one uses Pro Tools in Japan. It kinda strengthens my theory that Pro Tools is mainly an American DAW and is primarily used for film and tv Post Production but not music production.
Orion Platinum, Muzys 2

I like a lot of japanese music, personally I think the language is much suitable for music than english.
Though, there is a lot of cheesy lame stuff, just like everywhere else.

Now if Presonus would actually make a decent browser similar to what Steinberg has achieved with mediabay, they may possibly have no competition.

sharing just because the "Percentage of People Using Multiple DAW" part (at the middle of the page) was an interesting one, for ex. the Cubase/S1 combo usage (S1 just for mastering)

Serious cubase users tend to also seriously seek other DAWs, lol, and studio one may not be quite as workflow-friendly as cubase but it's close. This makes sense.

If you've used cubase for a few years, you've probably learned about its great workflow and powerful feature set, but you've also learned about its obnoxious, glaring flaws and steinberg's extremely frustrating customer service. These are solid reasons to keep your options open with products like studio one.

I noticed recently there's been a surge in independent releases in Japan (probably covid related) and major acts haven't been releasing. That may explain why 'band' daws are top of the list. Most of music on jpop charts now is guitar music.

Protools is the exception cause its a shit daw.
