Just for info.

Nearly a month ago I contacted UVI re an odd issue. I couldn't do a "save as" for new programs. It worked one day, the next it stopped. A few others found the same.

Anyway, if you've had this the good news is that UVI have found the issue and it is likely to be fixed in an update next week.

Does UVI usually have Christmas sales?

Post

Not really wanting to wade through all 400+ pages but...
-Is there any chance in hell that Falcon will add the ability to capture the midi output of the script, event processors?
I would love to see something similar to Omnisphere in that there would be a recorder that would capture the generated midi, and allow drag and drop to the host so we could really use the potential of the Falcon script engine in our compositions...

Regarding christmas sales, I vagluly remember someone saying that UVI sent out codes, around christmas, of varying amounts based on what you'd spent on them over the year. Is this correct?

Would love to get Drum Designer but only if the price is right

Just made a quick sketch for this feature

This could be indeed a nice addition to Falcon factory scripts as it can be plugged wherever you want.

I had no idea that was possible, fantastic!

Thank you very much for the script.
Is there a certain way to use it or does it only work with the Falcon arp?
I for example put it after drumulation and wanted to capture a sequence. It did indeed capture something and I was able to drag it into cubase, but the notes were all over the place (octaves) and didn't trigger the right drum-instruments

it records its input as MIDI, but that do not means that this input is valid as an input for the previous module.
Some script use event that target specific layer or with specific pan or pitch. This cannot be transcribed in MIDI so this MIDI export can lose some information.

OK, thanks for the information. I tried for ages to get the drumulation sequences out of Falcon, but I assume that is not possible?

Yep looking at drumulation code, each instrument is on a dedicated layer, so there is no way to mimic it with the script output using only MIDI events. Sorry.

Was going through the UVI catalogue and saw that Drum Replacer has VSTi hosting. That means you can identify transients and replace them with a new sample or trigger a virtual instrument to replace the transient with a newly generated sound. What if this tech would come to Falcon? I could imagine a “VSTi”- oscillator where a virtual instrument is hosted on its own layer and triggered by events from within Falcon. The sound of the VSTi is blended with other layers and goes through effects of Falcon. The existing oscillators in Falcon are already great but some synth have characteristics that can not be caught by Falcon’s engines.

I'm wondering how I can emulate something like the random cycle / cycle modes that one has within a keygroup either at layer or program level, i.e. for each note to trigger either a different keygroup or layer.

I sent a query to UVI support but I thought I would ask here as well. When auditioning loops in the browser, in my case World Suite 2 percussion loops, there doesn't seem to be away to preview the loop at the bpm tempo of the DAW. In order to hear the loop in context you have to first drag it into an instrument slot in order to hear it at the correct tempo which isn't very intuitive. For example I use Spectrasonics Stylus RMX and you can quickly audition loops during playback and they will sync automatically and once you've found a suitable loop you can drag it into a instrument slot.I've researched this subject and haven't found any info about this so far. So I'm presuming it's not possible. I'm sure not the only one who wants to quickly audition loops at the hosts tempo?
