Good point. They released V-Collection 7 in April 2019 and I picked it up on sale in March 2020, so 11 months later.onerob wrote: Mon Dec 14, 2020 5:59 pm As it's around 18 months between V-Collection releases, I wouldn't necessarily expect the upgrade discounts to start appearing around March. More like Aug/Sept, but this is guesswork.

Sorry to correct you, but I bought the V Collection 7 Upgrade (from 6) in November 2019 for $99, so about 7 months after release. So, expect next summer sale if at all. Because I am wondering if $149 upgrade from V Collection & + OB-Xa V will ever be made $75. I doubt so and hence I kinda feel the urge to upgrade to 8. Also, considering their change in policy, if you are two versions behind the latest, the upgrade price will only be more than upgrading from previous version.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Dec 14, 2020 6:03 pmGood point. Thanks for all the insights fellas,
There's still a few other things on my wanted list so have to make some tuff decisions.
Parawave Rapid is still high on my list (got an email reply that new update would be released later this month with sale discount)
Roland Cloud is offering the play 4 life with up to 2 to keep when you purchase an year subscription before end of this year.
As of now i'm thinking of just skipping the Roland offering and upgrade to V Collection 8.
Are there any decent 3rd party emulations of the D50/JV1080 that u might know of?
Quick edit, i forgot the Komplete 12 CE to 13 CE upgrade.
Got an email earlier today from NI Stating "SAVE ON KOMPLETE 13 Collector’s Edition", thing is it's still showing 499 as upgrade price (instead of the usual 50 percent off usual NI sale offerings).
But thinking about it a bit more:
The Komplete 12CE to 13CE upgrade is lowest as of now on my priority short list. Price wise and value wise.

We can both be right. It's possible it went on sale twice.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon Dec 14, 2020 6:24 pmSorry to correct you, but I bought the V Collection 7 Upgrade (from 6) in November 2019 for $99, so about 7 months after release. Yes, but guess the point was about the time to first sale?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Dec 14, 2020 8:21 pmWe can both be right. How is the interest for the new Juno 6? There are not many emulations here... I mean TAL has another one (or is that a Juno 60?).

TAL is awesome and I am sure it is accurate but I just don't care for it all that much.

They did a really good job. I matched a bunch of my patches from the Juno-106 plugout in my System-8 and it sounds very close. The chorus is slightly different and I couldn't quite get them to sound the same, but it's a pretty subtle difference. The CPU usage is also much lower than the Roland Cloud (plugin) version.4damind wrote: Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:00 am How is the interest for the new Juno 6? There are not many emulations here... My take is on the updated Analog Lab - since it's a preset browser, looks like Arturia reduced the number of stock presets substantially, Analog Lab 4 has 7k+ presets and in the V version it's now around 2k+. Interesting approach from them, knowing that the price remains the same 199 EUR for way less.

A lot of the AL4 presets were migrated and sit under "My Banks" "Factory". There are 2525 Analog Lab Factory presets, and 7593 "Factory" presets (which include presets that were from the older V Collection that I have -- so Jupiter 8 V3 is there). I havent dove in, to verify the factory banks.. but see that my personal banks (for the most part) were migrated over..

There are three versions of Analog Lab. Each has different presets because they are based on different generations of the Arturia synths. It's worth having all versions installed. I still use Analog Lab v1 from time to time, it has nearly 6000 presets and there is useful stuff in there. I'm sure they will keep adding more presets to Analog Lab V over time like they did v4.

I have only played with the Analog Lab V standalone app on Windows 10, so far, and have found it to be I/O intensive. It has even hung a number of times, and I had to force close it. Not a good look.
Analog Lab V feels almost like it is running single-threaded. The analysis of wait chains on the Analog V application process indicates that it is always waiting on dwm.exe, which is the Windows "Desktop Window Manager" process.
That said, the presets do sound superb to my ears. I just wish the UI was more stable and responsive.
