Looks like it started on the 10th and lasted until the end of the 13th. They should have called it "blink and you miss it" rather than "introductory." Oh, well. At $29 it was definitely worth having as an extra amp sim. Now that it's $49 it's still a good price but I can wait until I really feel like I have a need for it, like if I ever make a Boston cover. I think it would be great for Boston covers.

Unsurprisingly, my bandmate likes this thing as much as I do and wonders what those of you who don't have been using it on. As he points out, even the default preset sounds good.

Maybe they're using it for.......guitars?

I like Sphene a lot on synth bass but don't really have much use for it on my bass guitar.

Really? Because you know it's actually made for real bass guitar, don't you? I use it and Peridot on both. And we do use Rockstack on sampled guitar, of which we have an abundance - three Kontakt instruments plus three Ujam guitar VSTi plus SugarBytes Guitarist.

Of course I know. It didn't give me a good sound on real bass to me. My opinion. That's my point. Maybe this 'guitar' effect also only sounds good on synths which is why some people don't like it.

But back to Sphene, like it a lot on synth bass, proper grinding sound.

Yeah, it works exceptionally well with Monoment Bass for some reason. But it also works well on VB-Rowdy.
