I bought this as an Xmas present to myself and as there was a sale on but what a lush synth this is.
Really a pleasure to play and move through the presets, I have been just been playing random stuff most of the afternoon .
Sometimes I forget the enjoyment from just playing random things on the fly, as opposed to trying to make something happen.
Awesome.
(It's Christmas and I am on holiday as from today, so wanted to spread some love for a cracking plugin, i'm still the miserable old tw@t underneath)

Yup its very similar to actual JP-8000 minus lowend fatness ,non saw oscillators and arpeggiator but some of those can be brought back in DAW.
Adam did really good job, i was obsessed with JP-8000 around 2007 , but once i did realistic test and compared it against Vsti's outputting the same midi trying to make identical patches, i sold it.
JP6K is a great replacement and filter is indeed very lush.

"minus low end fatness"!?! Are you frickin' deaf? The bottom end in JP6K is bigger than any hardware synth Roland ever made. Although, to be completely fair, some of it comes from the built-in EQ but the bottom end has to be there to be boosted. JP6K might use a supersaw style oscillator but that filter doesn't sound like any Roland synth I've ever used.
What JP6K does sound like is Orion's Wasp. I think I might finally have found a synth to replace it, which means we'll be able to leave Orion behind for good. And it's a synth that has been around for years and costs bugger-all. Who'd a thunk it!?!

Maybe they couldn't name it JP8K as Roland might have had an issue with that.

Congrats for the most irrelevant comment

I think it's very likely, given that their Boutique recreation of the Jupiter 8 was called JP-08.

I guess, yes, like their Jupiter-X which uses the same name for an entirely different synth.
Anyway, i think it's clear that JP6K refers to JP80x0 and has nothing to do with the original Jupiters

The topic reads JP6k , a video shown of the jp 8000 and a comment by bones adressing the jp6K
So which synth are we talking about , the jp8000 released in 1997 , the jupiter 6 released in the 80/s or a non existing jp6k ?
Just saying

It is nice sounding, and I like how straight forward it is, but I don't really understand leaving out the other oscillator waveform shapes?

Ahh we're talking software , that explains everything
Maybe adjusting the topic title with the name of the developer would avoid confussion
