Really loving the new chorus X effect, especially being able to use it in rapid fx, it sounds super good and can function as more than just a chorus

lol......ah that worked.. I wasn't pressing it hard enough...lol. clearly we both know that is a joke.
An automute option button in the gui wouldn't work? I could leave automute on, you can leave it off, we both are happy?

Thank you guys very much. It was a lot of fun developing this effect and the fact, that it finaly can be also used as chamber, resonator and reverb was a great suprise for me as well.
Maybe that could work and maybe also in the next minor update. But until then, you have to press your mouse-button as much and hard as you can.zvenx wrote: Wed Dec 16, 2020 10:53 pm An automute option button in the gui wouldn't work? nice, didn't know you developed it, if you don't mind me asking, were you inspired by Vital's chorus?Mirko R. wrote: Wed Dec 16, 2020 11:05 pm

the reason I knew about the resonator and reverb from the chorus is because that was a trick I used with Vital's chorus all the time, many of the settings and display are similar as well
also I'm not accusing or anything just curious, I don't think anyone should hide if they were inspired and as well no one should shame it either, just putting that forward
but it's always awesome to speak with a dev, I remember speaking with someone awhile back about making msegs, there was a concern about making mseg presets with enough variety to be interesting
I said I'd make 100+ no problem, that offer is still on the table btw, I've made 100 msegs for vital, phaseplant, and shade already now so I have experience doing it
anyways, rapid is one of my favorite synths and seeing the roadmap I think it will only grow in favorability over time

Has Vital been out long enough to yet have influenced anything coming out now? I would think it would take a bit longer for that.

possibly there is another chorus out there I haven't seen that they both took inspiration from
but if you compare them side by side there's a lot of parallels
though rapid's has an additional pre-delay and stereo offset controls and slightly different filter
but other than that they are almost identical control:control

And you think they could so quickly copy Vital? Maybe? I don't know. I thought it took a while to code effects. But did Vital copy a chorus?

this is why I'm asking and not insinuating, there are a lot of parallels between them
again, like I also said, I'm not accusing Parawave of copying, just wondering if they were inspired by Vital
also this was another proposition I made, it's possible they were both inspired by another chorus that I'm not aware of
as far as turn around time, effects can take anywhere from days to months to years, could be possible that they saw it in vital and threw it together in a week, might not be the hardest effect in the world to build, could be possible they knew someone with access to beta and decided to take inspiration from it
again, I feel like I need to reiterate this, I'm not claiming ANY malice
but maybe if we just let Mirko respond for himself we'd both get a reasonable answer?

it all depends really, I forget how long Vital's chorus took, I remember requesting a few things and like maybe a week later it was the updated, sometimes stuff can get coded over night, it all just depends.

Indeed, stop button is the key, noise stops after pressing it exactly 3 times (Live 10.1.30).

I am doubtful that chorus X was influenced by vital.
A few people were complaining about the chorus effect, so it's probable it was already in the works. It also means that since vital has been released the module would have to have been planned, coded, debugged, optimised, beta tester etc. Can't see that happening tbh.
