2020 a year in gear (what have you/are you bought/buying?)

I bought the high-end logitech racing wheel in the past, they are pretty cool. I did get into the top 50
worldwide in PGR with it. Never even thought to use it for music heh. The racing secret is to keep the accelerator at 100% All of the time heh.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is my primary addiction, but I've been playing with an XBox controller. It'll be weird and more than a little scary to finally use a wheel with FFB, and I expect my times to be abysmal for a few weeks until I get a feel for it.

Nice, I suck in the dirt, much as I did in RL motorcycle racing. I need more grip, so I can
exceed it, in a controlled manner. The FFB is pretty cool and surprisingly realistic over 100 mph.

I learned to drive in the dirt in my dad's rail buggy, then rode a kind of messed-up Suzuki enduro bike off-road for a while, then a wild off-road kart. Casually though, not racing

lololol... I used to play Gran Tourismo a lot. It was the first racing game I played, where you couldn't just ride the accelerator. You needed to know which gear to be in for every turn and whether to take a turn high or low, to prepare for the next turn. The endurance races were brutal. I played 1, 2, 3 and 5 but my wife has been hogging the game consoles in our house for the last 10 years.

I started using an arcade stick for fighting games about a year ago. The clicky action and smashy buttons are rather satisfying. There are already good options in eurorack for joystics and arcade buttons, though. I think Doepfer released a joystick with extra twist control this year?

You needed to know which gear to be in for every turn and whether to take a turn high or low, to prepare for the next turn. The endurance races were brutal. I played 1, 2, 3 and 5 but my wife has been hogging the game consoles in our house for the last 10 years.

GT is awesome, I cant remember if you could power shift in it or not, I seem to recall doing that
in one of the games. When I was track racing bikes, I only use the clutch to slow for a turn, all
acceleration is sans clutch. I think that's what I liked about PGR, it was an arcade racer, so you
could enter a turn at 130-140 mph and drift through it under full acceleration.

*It might have been PGR, man I'm getting old. I remember finding it quite realistic, cuz that's
how it is for real, you cant let up on the gas. You don't want the motor to slow down as much
as possible so you can stay in the power band, which on a bike is 10000 rpm and upwards,
engaging the clutch and down shifting is bad. You don't want to come out of a turn in low gear.
Heh, sry some nostalgia and frustration at trying to remember how that all went, the RL thing
was like 30 yrs ago now. sigh...

That Doepfer stick looks a bit weird. I wound up with a Planar 2, which I really like for crossfades and the motion recorder and polar-to-cartesian converter are fun.

I also have a Synthwerks MG-1 arcade button that I got super cheap, but aside from the physical satisfaction of an arcade button, found I didn't really need it so I don't have it racked. The Ladik P-075's buttons don't feel as nice but there's more flexibility for signal muting.

sounds lovely!
although, im on my phone, so there were some bits i couldn't hear at all as well
will definitely recheck on the rig, the intro bit had some lovely synth tones

always nice to find something that can inspire. and yup, definitely seems to have some range, many synthy type guitar/bass pedals have a narrow musical sweet spot then everything else gets in to crazy occasionally useful sounds

looks darn pretty too!

Nice! I really like Iron Ether pedals. I've been trying to find an Arching Prism pedal for a bit but they don't turn up that frequently.
