Kinda hard to NEVER use finetune of zero when a simple accidental double-click takes you there...

Yeh Richard I know how to read Wiki too.
Indeed it was mentioned Patrick's is 14-bit. But I'd still like to hear an actual audio example for it if the 0.0 cents thing is actually physically possible to achieve on it or not.

Not really. A tinge of sarcasm, tho.

Either way.
Patrick has just uploaded a solution that should please all.

rspVersion 1.1.6
Added VCO 1 and VCO2 to the SC (Service Control) dialog. This gives you the option to detune them on a voice basis. We added a very small value per default to remove the unwanted static phase lock between the two VCO's. This way the phase slightly drifts per default.
Removed notch filter effect when syncing a saw with almost exact the same frequency.

I even get called by my real first name ...lol
Ok Mario!!!
lol
But yeah as Tal had mentioned a few pages before, and I think I had quoted him (that in the digital world you can make them have the same frequency and instabilities), that he indeed wasn't able to get zero detune on them.

Ahh, yees! That awful accidental fine tune reset...such dilemma. What would you do should that happen?EvilDragon wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 10:20 am Kinda hard to NEVER use finetune of zero when a simple accidental double-click takes you there...

And THIS right here is why Patrick is a legend and why I genuinely love his work, while also being critical and not passive aggressive. It's entirely possible to be like that, y'know!zvenx wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 10:23 am Either way.

Time to purchase TAL-Mod, I suppose, to show more appreciation.

I thought you had Tal-Mod already. Weren't you giving it praise a few pages ago?
(ps, you are protesting a little too much about the passive aggressive thing

I would email him about that if I were you.Vortifex wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 10:48 am Any chance of being able to select different colours for the interface like in the Sampler?
I personally would prefer a little contrast knob more than this, but it is his call always.
I imagine though either way it probably wouldn't be till next year perhaps?

I have the demo of TAL-Mod for some months now. TBH I am not using it very often but when I do I get great stuff out of it. I'm not bothered by the demo noise personally, I can still test in the areas between the noise.zvenx wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 10:55 am I thought you had Tal-Mod already. At any rate, yes, TAL-Mod is amazing, but considering I have a number of other semi-modular synths I was kinda split on should I get it or not. But now I will just get it for the sake of appreciation if nothing else. It will find its use eventually!

Thats just one example but is it definitive proof? How do we know that this person's JP8 has been properly serviced and calibrated, and is performing up to spec?EvilDragon wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 8:32 am For the record, here's an audio example from an actual 12-bit JP-8 owner trying to set the oscillators perfectly dead in phase like you can easily achieve on J-8. It's not happening, there's always some very very slow phasing happening.

Thanks to Patrick on updating the OSC tunings.
Usually TAL synths are fine tuned during the intro phase, that's great (if you know it
).
@ED: TAL-Mod is must have IMO, these OSC/Filters and Envelope possibilities with this HQ sound I didn't find in other synths. It's really easy to work with and has a good layout and uses few resources (besides CPU if you go full poly
)
Remember to increase the volume on the OSCs though, I find it just sounds better (driven?) when they are past the 50% mark.

+1....Reefius wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 11:48 am It would be cool if the SC screen had a 'Random' button to randomize all the knobs. Preferably with a knob next to it to set the amount of randomization.
"Borrow" and add to what Synapse did with Obsession.
Also wish it had 'presets' you could store....
