Here is a silly thing! The whole thing is just one single long note from one instance of Surge with a bunch of macro automation:

Did the 32bit version got scrapped? I guess No one wanted to develop for 32bit?EvilDragon wrote: Fri Dec 11, 2020 3:21 pm Alrighty people!
Today we're officially starting the beta cycle for Surge version 1.8!
More information: https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/beta18
Everyone is welcome to try the beta out and of course, any bugs you might stumble upon, let us know either here or (preferably) on GitHub. We are now in feature freeze phase, so only bug reports will be taken under consideration.
Thank you!

Still dosent work in EnergyXT. Well, i'll just give up then. Never figured why developers drop 32bit development. Its not like 32bit is dead. Ridiculous.

Well it was impossible to debug the EnergyXT condition, and since the developer of eXT abandoned it and we cannot get any info from him about why it is like that, there's not much else we can do.
https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/su ... -570929718
eXT doesn't seem to even send the call to open the GUI to Surge, so without that, erm... the GUI won't open. The bug is on eXT side for one reason or another. Surge 32-bit works perfectly alright most everywhere else, just not eXT.
Our free time is better spent on hosts that actually do things in the right way (like tell us when to open our GUI) and have at least a somewhat active developer or developers behind them! That said, if anyone can figure out a way to debug eXT condition with Surge, pull requests are more than welcome.

I actually am also a part of Surge Synth Team and indeed help out with some code. I'm everywhere!
But the case still stands. If we cannot debug a condition, our hands are tied. If anyone else has an idea of how to fix this, the code is out there in the open for everyone to see, and pull requests exist. Meanwhile we will keep on adding new and cool stuff to Surge and fix bugs that pop up!
It sucks that Surge doesn't work in eXT, we don't hate it or anything, but we also don't know what to do in this situation, and eXT is not helping by not telling us when to show our GUI.

Yeah it's a bummer. But basically there's a VST2 call that EnergyXT just never ever did. I ran it in a debugger and anything. And now we are only a binary of VST3 anyway and it's abandoned so i don't think there's much we can do. If you want to build the code though it still builds a VST2 if you have a valid license to the VST2SDK.Halonmusic wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 10:15 pm That is what i thought. That is pretty cool.Anyway you are right. EnergyXT is dead so shouldnt expect any development there. Fortunatelly it works perfectlly in Reaper but would be great if it did in ext. But That is life i suppose
Also dont worry about ext support, Jørgen abandoned it years ago so no reason to support it.
We totally support Win32 though and some of the regulars run it all the time. I think this is an eXT problem not a 32 bit problem. (On linux and mac we are really more 64 bit only but I think we can build linux 32 bit arm though we don't test it. Mac both intel and apple silicon is 64 bit only of course).
I guess if the original author has abandoned it, and has not open sourced it, and you use it, and I can't debug it (which I couldn't) and you can't debug it, indeed you are stuck

You know, I wonder if you could use some plugin wrapper to load Surge inside it, inside eXT. Something like BlueCat Patchwork, maybe?
