It's the same synth, you just get more wavetables and presets.

Interesting. Like the bass on the Peter H track.

That's a nice piece, I like it, but with all those effects it seems to me that it's not in the spirit of OSC. Surely it would be a much more impressive feat to achieve that using only Vital's on-board effects? After all, Vital does have a pretty good range to choose from and their quality is more than good enough.] Peter:H [ wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 3:07 pm If you like to listen to avoid being bored ... or get inspiration for the next rant battle: My Entry to the current OneSynthChallenge@KVR featuring Vital.

All sounds come from Vital. All Patches created by myself. Only the Basedrum is the preset from the free edition of vital which I tweaked to my liking.
It's actually 29 Vitals in Bitwig 3.3.1 with lots of Bitwig on board FX and a few commercial FX, i.e. MStereoProcessor, MSpectralDynamics and MTurboReverb.
Or I can just use my ears to determine what's good and what's shit. Much less hassle that way. Having learned my craft on actual, real, analogue synths, I think I have a workable understanding of every aspect of them. The filters in Vital are serviceable, nothing more, and no amount of tweaking or gain-staging or anything else is going to make them sound like the LP filter in JP6K.gentleclockdivider wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 4:48 pmMaybe you should spend/investigate some more time concerning the input gain/drive of ( well modelled analogue ) filters and how they behave , especially the resonance .
Of course, for a lot of things we use synths for, it won't matter but it makes it hard to reach for a particular synth if you know it might become a limitation down the track. There are literally dozens of synths in my VST folder that fall into that category for me, either because of limitations with the filters or the oscillators, so Vital is in pretty good company and, as it cost me nothing, it doesn't annoy me as much as some things I paid plenty for.
Viper, probably, but not Hive. I don't know what it is but I'm never happy with Hive when I try to use it. It sounds great on it's own, so might be perfect for OSC, but when I try to put in a mix with other synths, it always disappoints me.v1o wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 6:08 pmIf you made the exact same track with instances of U-he Hive or Viper it would sound better in my opinion.

Your comments on filters in general and how you expect them to behave clearly show otherwise
Has nothing to do vital , I'm not a vital fan myself ..but when there is a lack of resonance I just know the filter is overdriven too much
Not al filters bbehave this way , but it is something you must have encountered while learning your craft , no ??

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Guys, quick question: is the sign-in mandatory, or can it be turned off somehow (AFAIK, it can't, even in the paid versions)?
(Would be willing to pay for Vital, but, I REALLY do not want to sign in to anything related to my DAW (let alone see purchase ads (or any kind of ads)), so this is a major killjoy

As far as I can tell, you must sign in to get rid of the login screen when opening the plugin each time. Though I think the sign in is really more about allowing you to download the presets and wavetables you've purchased.Ghost Dog wrote: Sun Dec 20, 2020 8:57 am Guys, quick question: is the sign-in mandatory, or can it be turned off somehow (AFAIK, it can't, even in the paid versions)?

It would be nice if we could turn that off and download the presets manually in our Vital accounts, but I don't think that's possible just yet.

This is correct, but just keep in mind, you will need to click away every time you open an instance of Vital if you don't sign in. It doesn't seem to remember this.kone2006 wrote: Sun Dec 20, 2020 9:12 am first time login is needed to download presets etc.after that ,click away from the login box(inside gui) it will go away.there are no ads.

And it doesn't care whether the computer is offline either.
