Ah sorry to hear you're giving up! I too have had difficulty with the combs. Even playing around and trying to think outside the box, i can't get it to stay in tune. It seems to be the 'Cut off' parameter that changes the tuning a bit? I'm not sure though. Your piano sounded so good within 1 octave or so.photonic wrote: Sat Dec 19, 2020 4:24 pm Hi all,
Today I decided to quit, to give up. I always tried to make nice sounding acoustic sounds with vital, most of them with the comb filter. Even with Jasinski 's great help, I could not achieve different presets to sound all together in tune. But with all those sounds, I was working on a musical idea, I will not loose. Maybe it is time to do some music beside OSC. So I will try to go on with this idea and make the song with all other instruments I collected over time, inclusive some sampled sounds.
Maybe some of you can use my presets I made so far. You can find them here:

Have fun with them and good luck!

It's a shame Photonic. I was waiting to hear what you were cooking with Vital.
This is the link to the OSC rules, just in case.Sleepwalker wrote: Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:41 pm And what if we are out on a party on the 1st? Will the voting continue a few days?

Here's a track to clear the dancefloor in a hurry and blow up the venue's sound system for good measure. More mud than all the 90s Woodstock revivals combined!
Okay You Little Bastards, Santa's Taking the Speak and Spell Back to K-Mart as Soon as They Open Again
DAW: Jeskola Buzz
Vital instances: 11, no factory presets
Effects: VoS FerricTDS and BootEQmkII on master bus. All other effects are within Vital.
Might go back and clear up some of the mud. Might go back and add more mud. Might also not.

Here are a handful of cymbals I've made in Vital. Not quite as easy to make them in Vitals is it is with Serum but I'm getting there.Hard3eat wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 9:20 am Im pretty ok at making snares, but I struggle quite a bit when it comes to cymbals of all sorts.. Crashes and rides in particular..
Anyone got some tips/tutorials that I could use that are actually usefull!?

I'm really sorry to hear this.
I was looking forward to hear a great track of you, this time.
Maybe you can post a link of your track if you have finished your idea.
Thank you for the presets!

Such a critical and necessary poetic message, as passed by a Muse most generous unto this humble servant, really does need to be fully understood in order to be truly digested in all its splendid glory, so without further ado:
Fart
Fart
Fart (Big butt)
Fart (Big butt)
Fart (Big butt)
Fart (Big butt big butt)
Fart (Big butt, booger)
Fart (Big butt, booger eat)
(repeat last line an additional 12 times or until Speak & Spell is taken away)
Eat
Big butt, booger eat
Eat
Eat
Eat eat eat eat eat
I eat boogers and fart from my big butt
I eat boogers and fart from my big butt
I eat boogers and fart from my big butt
I eat boogers and fart from my big butt
Fart
Haha, a real blast from the past, I know
I got sucked in at an impressionable age, back when it was kinda the only free game in town (pirated Fruity Loops and Rebirth were everywhere, of course, but both of those were pretty CPU-intensive and felt laggy and bloated on my computer of the time).
To this day Buzz is still my go-to, even if I sometimes do entire projects without a single Buzz-native machine. It just makes so much more intuitive sense to me than the physical-studio-influenced (or "poisoned") gibberish of "aux buses" and "master sends" and "FX channels" and whatnot. Its generative capabilities are also completely unparalleled. Sure, Buzz might have only just gotten draggable envelope curves a month or two ago, but show me any other DAW that lets me type up a grammatical framework to pseudorandomly choose and navigate through different musical phrases on the fly

The reverb of the snare has way to much high frequencies. It clouds the whole track with white noise. There is a filter/eq on the Vital reverb, if thats the reverb you are using. I suggest taming it a lot so it does not smear and cloud the mix so much.
