There are 2525 Analog Lab Factory presets, and 7593 "Factory" presets (which include presets that were from the older V Collection that I have -- so Jupiter 8 V3 is there). I havent dove in, to verify the factory banks.. but see that my personal banks (for the most part) were migrated over..

Interesting approach from them, knowing that the price remains the same 199 EUR for way less.
I have 3022 in 'home', 2983 in 'My Banks -> Factory' and 2324 in 'My Banks -> Analog Lab Factory'.
And 7535 present in 4.

I just checked on a MacBook Pro, that I have AL4 and AL5 installed on. last evening, I was looking on a different Mac. Anyway - on this system... I have 2521 presets in the AL5 "Analog Lab Factory" bank, 7594 in the "Factory" bank (I believe which were imported initially from AL4), along with 50+ banks of other patches that were converted from AL4. I think all told, I am only 'really' using 30-40 customized presets in my personal banks, but have thousands that made their way over from Analog Lab 4 into Analog Lab 5. I've been using Arturia sw synths for years, and collected a lot of preset banks over that time.

tonedef71 wrote: Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:45 pmAnalog Lab V feels almost like it is running single-threaded. The analysis of wait chains on the Analog V application process indicates that it is always waiting on dwm.exe, which is the Windows "Desktop Window Manager" process.
Click the settings cog in the upper right, there is an option to enable MultiCore.
I know. Unfortunately, turning on MultiCore does not seem to make any difference.

No other software on my PC seems to exhibit this slow-response, I/O intensive behavior.

When I first fire-up Analog Lab V, nothing happens for about 15 seconds. No splash screen -- nothing. Not inspiring confidence when the software starts up.

Talking about the upgrade price, I got an email today that says:
As a V Collection 7 and OB-Xa V owner, upgrade at an exclusive launch deal: $149 $299
Based on conversation with sales support and this email, looks like $149 is going to be the best offer ever when upgrading from V Collection 7 and OB-Xa V. Of course, this offer might come back again in future, but the lowest will probably be $149.

I think next year during sales prices will be $99 for v7 to v8 and $74 for those who also have the OB-Xa V too.

That would be great. Note though, that the list price has now increased, so I really don't expect it to go as low as $99. Let's hope I'm wrong. :)

Does anybody understand what the 'Add Folder+' button is for in the User section of the Emulator II sampler?

You can add a folder from your system, but the browser won't show anything contained inside it, and you can't move things into it, and if you 'import sample' into it, they show up there inside the Emulator browser *but do not actually show up there on your system disk* --- it's so enormously non-intuitive I'm just sitting here scratching my head.

EDIT: Somehow, now, for no explicable reason, the samples inside folders added with the Add Library+ button are showing up, hallelujah! Which is great...I just have no idea why they didn't show up the first five time I tried. <shrug>

Exactly. $149 is probably the new $99. It is clear after having a conversation with sales support that they have revised their pricing because of the significant amount of efforts that have gone into this new version.

Note that VC6 to VC7 was 3 new instruments, Analog Lab 4 + Synthopedia bank. VC7 to VC8 is 4 instruments, 2 improved instruments, Analog Lab V and 700 new presets apart from a slew of other updates to all plugins.

Sounds fair to me. But of course, only time will confirm if this will be true.

perhaps somebody already noticed it: the brightness/timbre and other macro's with multiple destinations. the now more visible midi in "all". is this a prelude to MPE? or midi 2.0?? or both?

(i think this thread has more viewers, i am still on V 7 + OB-Xa, wait until the sale, which is always 50%, guess thát won't change.. o the future! the future).

Hi,
If you're confused because Analog Lab V has less presets than Analog Lab 4, it is a bug that occurs for users that have an ALV and AL4 licence but no VCollection licence. You should have all your AL4 presets in ALV as long as your AL4 licence is also activated on your computer.
This should be fixed in the Analog Lab V hotfix that will be released very soon, if the problem still occur after updating please contact the support !

Thanks for clearing that up!

This year's Holiday gift from Arturia is cutting out the Juno chorus and making it a standalone, a la TAL.

Now I can realize my dream of gluing a Juno chorus onto a Jupe. Thank you Arturia!

Thank you for the Jun-6 Chorus, Arturia! Merry Christmas to all!

Couldn't you already do that with the free Tal chorus?
