I was trying to make a dark synthwave track with these presets, but ended up with a cheesy Todd Terje-disco-like lounge number instead.

After spending some time with J-8, I'm noticing a certain tone characteristic to it, which can be described as 'pillowy lushness'.

never heard that before and the only other reference for it I found is you on a cuckos forum talking about it...not saying it isnt true because tech terms and all...you always hear new things...

It's also explained in u-he manuals.

I've encountered a bug in the demo whereby random notes with Upper selected in Whole mode stop working. Not sure what's caused it, trying to replicate it atm. Edit: only happens with Unison on.

Also a small thing but the unison Voices dial goes from 1 to 10 but max unison is actually 7, might want to update the panel to reflect that.

I can't seem to confirm the first bug.

The Cutoff control does not go from 0 to 10 Hz, either

Has anyone ever used a mousewheel that didn't have notches when you scroll? I've never used a smooth mousewheel. Seems like an odd feature to need to enable considering all mousewheels I've used have those little stepped notches.

I've had my eye on the vertical version for a while, but I keep hoping they'll implement a horizontal scroll on that one too in some future revision. But I apologize for digressing, let's not turn this into a mouse discussion.

things i noticed:


. vco-2 range minimum value is wrong (should be -48 instead of -36)

. when pitch wheel vco slider is set at 12, range is actually plus/minus 24 semitones

. vcos are phase locked but when cross mod is used, modulation phase is free/random

. lfo sine waveform icon is inverted (wave starts at 0 and goes up)

. lfo square waveform icon is inverted (wave starts at minimum value)

. upper/lower panel tone is different even with identical settings (and no voice tuning)

I think I found a small bug: when switching off 'Hold' while the arpeggiator is running, the last played note hangs.

Why isn't the arp tempo control next to the arp, where there is still empty space?

I had J8 not playing C4 Out of the blue.
Unload and load the Plugin did not fix it, Restarting Reaper did.
