I've had it twice too, when inserting the plugin it did not react on midi notes. Had to reinsert to make it working.

CHANGE LOG
Version 1.1.8
Bug Fixes.
I wonder what bugs of those mentioned were fixed, and there are very probably some we haven't discovered yet.
When mentioning bugs, it's a good practice to mention the OS [maybe CPU and VGA, too], or at least the DAW you're working with. Developers don't possess psychic abilities yet.
It really helps them to know these things. Maybe it's just one checkmark in the compiler that makes it buggy, you know?
Since I've posted, I could expand it with an interesting suggestion, too, I suppose. On the original Jupiter-8 you could freely choose and combine upper and lower patches, in J-8 it isn't possible to do that. Couldn't that screen be used for choosing lower and upper patches separately, and then call the whole "multi-patch" or "combination-patch" something? I mean the original can do that, so why not J-8. It's a hugely useful function making it essentially 2-timbral.
Which it already is in a way with separate outputs and settings per upper/lower patch, but you can only choose one patch, and edit the other one yourself, essentially, which seems a bit odd, don't you think?
Cheers!

Ummm try the Load button next to Lower/Upper panel select buttons.
All that you're asking for is already possible.

Party indeed. What have I been thinking... oh I haven't. My brain is on vacation, probably.
Thanks ED!
However... what if you like put your mouse pointer on the lower or upper button and you could read the name of the loaded patch on the "screen"? That sounds like a reasonable feature, somewhat expected - since you can read the values of most of the parameters on the "screen" when you put the mouse pointer on them.
Edit: shouldn't we be able to save upper/lower parts, too?

There is a new build that might fix that.dermage wrote: Mon Dec 21, 2020 8:36 pm I've had it twice too, when inserting the plugin it did not react on midi notes. Had to reinsert to make it working.

My last track and I have to move on.... I wanted to see if I could make a nice, groovy dance track with presets that weren't made for this purpose (the track actually starts with a mellow 'synth brass' preset). This is best played on headphones, or loud on speakers, as there are many layers of similar 'colours' that will kind of disappear on computer speakers or mobile phones.
None of the J-8 preset are treated with any effects, it's straight from the synth unprocessed (as in all the previous tracks too).

Yup, same here. 1.1.8, AU, Logic.suthnear wrote: Tue Dec 22, 2020 11:14 am Delay sync only seems to work properly at 120BPM for me (live 10). Is this a known issue?
(Oh and about the plugin: I already have the Roland Cloud version, but I just love TAL products & think it's important to support developers like this, so I just got J-8 without even demoing. I'm sure the little issues will be ironed out soon.)

Cool, thanks for confirming. Also, the manual hasn't been updated but the SC Intensity knob seems to be static in that it determines the depth of randomisation when you hit the Random button and does nothing otherwise. However, wouldn't it be better if Random was always full range, but Intensity allowed you to dial in how much? It could even be a performance control. This would be somewhat akin to the vintage knob on the new prophet 5/10 (although that apparently uses tables rather than static offsets).
