Now trying out Amplitube 5 (CS for now).
Did hell freeze over and you can now only see the presets for the gear you own?
Wow.
Huge Thanks and kudos to Ik Multimedia for this.

Really appreciated.

but I don't get what's the point of such lie today. you won't get away with it. it's not 2002 anymore, when one couldn't check things and people could sweep things under a rug. today your product will be studied under most scrupulous microscope inspection, and in case you are lying, you will be called out on your lie soon enough.
It's not just the GUI update. Above, the comparison is to newer models in the British Collectiont that were added in v4. The legacy amps themselves were updated, more than the GUI.

There is a toggle there. If you prefer you can still also (or only) see what gear you don't have (including presets including that gear) but I'm pretty sure many are toggling that to only see what you have :D

Post

yes I realise the toggle exist.....
Thank you for that.
I found one patch that got away, I posted in on gearslutz already.

But Appreciate this.

I haven't owned an amp of my own in a while, and at this point I don't see a reason to unless I stumble into a huge pile of cash to build my dream rig. For now Amplitube gets me 99% of the way there, and I'm sure my neighbors appreciate not being woken up by me shredding at 2am. :phones:
Thank you for the kind words, I've been letting the team know how people feel about AmpliTube 5 regularly. Also, you can still move some air if you have a change of heart about messing with your neighbors :tu:

Thanks, I'll relay it to the team in case it wasn't reported by anybody. Note that even if there's an update, presets may not (or most likely will not) be overwritten from what I'm told so you may want to remove/replace as it doesn't appear in the single routing but does when the multi routing is enabled. Future versions will likely resolve this but again, won't likely overwrite what you have if in a standard program update.

Got ya.

don't selectively reply to me, reply to those on previous page, who told you that it's not true. they checked it and the old amps weren't updated.

if they were updated, elaborate what part of the legacy amps in particular was in fact redone, so people could understand the "update" part better. what was updated and what not?

and what about the stomps and the fact they null completely with AT4 versions?
The cabs were redone, the amps - not so much (just tweaked poweramp model, but the core model pretty much sounds the same, which is evidenced by direct comparison with cab bypassed), they null very closely with their AT4 counterparts and generally keep the same sound character. Stomps weren't redone at all, they null completely with AT4. So really, unless you're definition of "redone" is wildly different from what's commonly referred to as "redone", the amps weren't redone.

Post

Just to be clear: Peter never claimed stomps were redone, I was just referring to another poster who lamented the fact that the old stomps were not that good, and weren't improved in this release.

As for amps, they were updated but calling it "redoing" is far fetched since they don't just sound very similar, they sound almost identical and null down to something like -50dB with their AT4 counterparts. So, yeah, technically they were updated, but they weren't remodeled and aren't nearly on the level of Classic Brit Collection or latest releases.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Post

anyway. the IK dude will pretend you didn't say anything and will keep on keeping on, meaning blowing his old horn.

the guy could pursue a career in politics, seriously. he's got talent for all things demagogic. he makes exciting claims, but never actually delivers or provides any reasons. that's a politician.

Post

The web site states clearly what was done. They were remastered, they sound better. If that's not the results you are experiencing you're free to report your experience to the team. Perhaps you are only using CS, which would mean you are missing out on features that when coupled with these improvements really show the differences too. But you can see the gain structure and power amp portion of the amps were improved.
AmpliTube 5 also revisits all the original AmpliTube legacy gear, adding not only a fresh new look, but optimized internal gain structure and superior power amp - speaker interaction to maximize their realism and feel.
Edit - saw that post while I was typing this. I apologize if facts that counter your opinion and obvious issue with IK for whatever reason frustrate you to the point of personal insults. I hope it makes you feel better and relieves your frustration.

Post

...and AmpliTube 5 is what delivers. The proof is in the widespread acceptance that AmpliTube 5 raises the bar. There is a huge list of regular users - not media or anybody affiliated with IK - heaping accolades upon AmpliTube 5 as they are amazed at the sound and sonic improvement that it brings to the table. Trust them, not me, if you are that jaded about whatever I or IK might have done to you to cause such ire. Also, trust them because after you continue to get personal, I will no longer be engaging you. The users have spoken, if you trust them AmpliTube 5 is likely a safe bet and well worth it. If you don't, that's your right too.

No problem. I had sent that to our Testing Manager who was the one who found it in the multi routing and said they would log it but who also gave the caveat about the updates and presets not getting overwritten.

yup, im no ikm fan, but insulting peter personally is bang out of order.

be better than that, then your complaints might even be listened to, insults just make everyone ignore any points you make

stay safe!

{im not anti ikm, i just prefer not to have to dl everything .. but it's my choice, i certainly don't try to encourage others not to buy)

Thank you. Happy Xmas to you and to everybody (meaning also whatever holidays you celebrate, or just celebrate getting through this - or simply getting through another - year) here at KVR. Many  to you.

[I'm interpreting your post as vurt not liking IK but liking ME which is nifty and I'll count it as a win, so just let me have that even if not true :) ]
