You can get a separate installer for just the chorus here:

https://www.arturia.com/products/softwa ... /resources

Just scroll down to the Manuals section, and the installer is listed there. I was able to install it fine without using the Arturia Software Center. While I do have the ASC installed for V Collection and Pigments, the JUN-6 authorization was taken care of from within the plugin.

This plugin is really nice and it's absolutely worth it.

I don't like much the I+II on the Chorus JUN-6 (I prefer TAL Chorus LX in I+II, even if it's different from the actual hardware behaviour - it's not a matter of "quality", I just don't appreciate that I+II setting), but the other modes (I, II and manual - the latter is not avaible on TAL Chorus LX) are fantastic.
Don't skip on this plugin just because of the installation procedure. I briefly tested the plugin this afternoon: I loaded Waves Element and I left it on default settings (I only closed the filter a little bit), then I inserted the Chorus JUN-6 and I was shocked at how good it sounded, it made a lot of difference (and for the better!).
This plugin is a keeper in my opinion and it will probably become one of my go-to choruses, if not my go-to (and no, I wasn't looking to add yet another chorus to my plugin folder!).
free multisamples (last upd: 22th May 2021).

Lotuz2019 wrote: Wed Dec 23, 2020 8:04 pm Do you guys think Arturia will release another set of three modulation effects? Maybe two more built-in effects that they'll take from their V Collection instruments with added features? The Solina Ensemble for example? Which other built-in effects would be interesting to have as effects plugins?
I wish. I really think their "3 modulation effects..." are excellent. Add in a CE-1, CE-2, and you can have a BBD Chorus collection right there.
I like Lotuz2019's idea of the Solina chorus as a standalone effect. The CE-1 along with a Solina ensemble and the Juno chorus would be perfect. Arturia would probably expand the CE-1 with optional separate rate and depth controls, giving you the ability to use it like a CE-2.

Whats really cool about Arturias website is you can control the plugin as if it was in your daw. The way you can control the buttons and the wet /dry mix is really cool. Not seen this on other websites before. Still, dont like it. Mode 1 and 2 sounds nice but not both together. Is that how the original on Juno 6/60/106 behaved?

Yes. The modes weren't designed to be used together, but this is what happens when you mash both buttons at once.

Doesn't work. Even when you use the Jun-6 Chorus individual installer it still insists on installing the Arturia Software Center. You can not opt out of the installation:

Ah, drat, didn't notice that it was pre-checked in the installation. That's too bad.

You need the ASC. That is how you authorize the plugin.
Jun-6 Chorus is not a free plugin. It is only free for right now, as a limited time special gift. They will almost certainly be selling it at some point. They wouldn't be able to do that with a plugin they gave away without any copy protection.

Hate to be that one that brings this but this chorus aliases way too much, Is this normal behavior?

I was excited to compare this to the TAL chorus to see if it was better but the aliasing its just to much, I hate myself for installing the Arturia Software Center just for this. :(

Most certainly. Last year's freebie was the Rev 140 and it's listed for $99 now.

The only problem I have with the ASC is that it's touted as "an elegant, simple solution to help you install, activate, and update your Arturia software instruments".

When in fact it is their Copy Protection scheme. Don't make it sound like you're doing me a favor by installing your CP method App.

You can see the Agent running as a background process whenever one of their plugins is loaded:

You notice it's not using much resources, very little Ram and only a bit of CPU when it first launches but that's why people have an aversion to these kinds of Apps. Imagine if every plugin you loaded launched background services and if every developer had their own "service center" app. I have more of those installed on my studio system than I do DAWs.

Now stop typing I have the ASC installed and I am genuinely grateful for Arturia's generosity not just this year but in years past. I don't hate the ASC but I could certainly do without it.

I'm just pointing out why people push back when they learn they must install yet another "service" App when installing a simple effects plugin.

Aliasing? Whatever you're hearing probably isn't aliasing. Or Chorus Jun-6 isn't the cause of it. The signal is pretty bandlimited, which you'd expect in a BBD chorus.

Everything is aliasing nowadays. Music should not be made without plugindoctor. I think Spotify should not be allowed to stream music without plugindoctor scanning each track end showing if and where it aliases in fact it should use AI to restrict streaming for only music where aliasing is not present at all. It’s a big issue. Ppl say no for aliasing! Fck good music with soul who cares! Just no aliasing please. Hopefully there will be a vaccine one day. Stay safe Merry Christmas!
