Just for the record so does OBsession. From the manual:

Yes I know. I think that was the point he was making and I was saying, yeah that should be expected as the Hardware also had it.

Strange: I recorded a little J-8 clip in Reaper, just a few chords. Then I copied the clip to another track where I had Retrologue, just in order to compare the sound. The bass note that started at zero was not played. When I pushed the identical Retrologue clip to the start of the project, the bass note did sound.

I mentioned that a bunch of pages back. Need to e-mail Patrick I suppose.

I thought it was a reaper bug. Its easy to cause unplayed notes in reaper for some reason vs other daws

My least favorite of the three is the Roland, and I’m a System-8 hardware owner and Cloud subscriber so you’d think, if anything, I’d be biased in favor of that one. Really like this one but the new Arturia is good too. The Dual/Split options give this one an edge but the Arturia GUI is easier to work with.

Also, someone on Gearslutz posted a simple A/B against his hardware and this held up very nicely IMO. There should be more comparisons coming from that poster with more complex sounds. This is definitely the emulation to beat.
This is how I felt about the Roland cloud Juno-106. The raw oscillators sounds didn't sound right to me even if some of the other stuff was bang on, like the chorus.

Just from demos I've heard I like the raw sound from the Arturia better than this or the Roland, but for complex sounds I like what I'm hearing of this better than the Arturia. Although it could just be I like the presets I'm hearing on this more than Arturia's presets (which are very bad IMO). I'll have to demo this tomorrow.

But if it is a Reaper bug, why does that bug not affect Retrologue? Shouldn't it affect all synths equally?

Hadn't read the entire thread, just saw EDs bit.

I know it is not part of the original, but since that panel already exists, he might add the pan position deviation from the center. Just an idea... :) I think OBsession has that kind of voice panning if I remember correctly.
I agree that a per-voice panning option would be a great addition.

But when you're listening in mono, it doesn't make much difference.

mono? is it 1962 again?

Post

It should be 10.2 as we have 2020 and I have a double 5.1 speaker setup in my studio...
Stereo is almost mono, is it 1972 again?

Stereo is almost mono
except it isn't, and 5.1 is not designed for general music.

You didn't catch my "lol" icon underneath, I guess? I was just joking. Of course it's a cool feature to be able to have every other oscillator panned L/R, for example, or however you prefer them. :tu:
