Just like it says on the tin. I am building an IR for my mandolin and while I can use the MFreeformEqualizer plugin itself to make the terrible magnetic pickup sound remarkably close to a microphone, when I click the "IR" button on the bottom right, it just outputs an uncolored IR. I've tested this in several IR and convolution loaders to confirm that it's not an issue with a specific loader. Every tutorial I can find on this process is using an older version of the plugin, so I didn't know if there was a setting that I missed or what was going on.

I'm using the trial right now and would love to buy the plugin, but I need to know that it will work for this purpose as I have several instruments I want to create IR's for. Thanks!

Why do you not post in the Melda support forum here?

It would be strange, if a trial would save an IR. Then they wouldn't sell a single plugin. I guess its a demo restriction...
But hurry to be sure, the sale ends in 2 days...

Are you referring to the match feature? There's MConvolutionEZ for impulses.
Might not be specific to your instrument but here are some acoustic guitar impulses.

Searches by wood type etc.

No, he is referring to do convolution inside an EQ. Hiwever, there is a feature to export an impulse response in MFreeformEqualizer.

And, as far as I know, during trial their should not be any limitation. Thus, there might be a bug in the impulse export.
